A tragedy occured today in KC
A female soldier had returned from Iraq this week and was killed as she crossed a busy highway at 59th and college street in Olathe....
She was on leave and had returned to attend and celebrate her brother's wedding this weekend.
She carried no ID and was not identified until her brother reported to police that she was missing
Was she someone you knew? All I can find in the Kansas City Star is:
Pedestrian killed on U.S. 69 in Overland ParkAn unidentified woman died early today when she was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. 69 near College Boulevard.
The woman was walking in the roadway shortly before 4 a.m. when she was hit, the Overland Park Police Department said.
The highway was closed for several hours. Police are investigating.
