Two Israelis, including a baby girl, were killed and two others lightly wounded Friday night by a Palestinian gunman who infiltrated the West Bank settlement of Negohot, southwest of Hebron.
"To our regret, we have two killed and two more slightly wounded," said Dror Richter, spokesman for Magen David Adom.
Israel Defense Forces troops and settlers killed the terrorist, but security forces were searching the area for any other attackers.
The attack came as Jews in Israel were celebrating the first night of Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year - which began at sundown Friday and lasts until Sunday evening.
Late Thursday, a full closure was imposed on the West Bank and Gaza Strip, ahead of the holiday.
The closure has been put in place due to fears that Palestinian militants plan to carry out an attack during the holiday. Palestinians will, however, be allowed to enter Israel for humanitarian reasons.
Access to Friday prayers on the Temple Mount was limited to Palestinians aged 40 and older and those who carry Israeli identity cards. Some 15,000 attended and there were no incidents.
Police chief Shlomo Aharonishki told Israel Radio on Friday morning that large numbers of police reinforcements had been deployed throughout the country ahead of the holiday.
Police numbers have also been bolstered in cities along the Green Line, and Border Police units are on high alert along the divide between Israel and the West Bank.
Aharonishki said that the areas to which police officers had been deployed were given careful consideration, and were based not only on specific warnings, but also a more general approach.
IDF troops operating in the West Bank city of Ramallah arrested 25 Hamas activists overnight Thursday, Israel Radio reported.
Hours earlier, Palestinian gunmen fired shots near homes in the Psagot settlement close to Ramallah, Israel Radio said. There were no injuries.
In the Gaza Strip late Thursday, Palestinians fired at IDF troops near Atzmona in the Gush Katif settlement bloc, and troops returned fire. Palestinian gunmen also fired two anti-tank missiles at IDF troops near the Gadid settlement in southern Gaza. There were no injuries in either incident, the Itim news agency reported.
As Israel was key to developing the technology the question is why that technology is not put into use by the IDF to defend Hebron?
WHY?
Then they are not civilians are they? If the civilians provide cover willingly (and they do), they are not civilians, they are accomplices. When the Hamas march, 10,000 people march with them.
In my mind they are nothing but a target concentration.
In the Book of Judges..the story line finds the children of Israel driven from the productive ground..oppressed and living in caves.
Raiders descend upon the people at will.
From Hevron to the Yesha settlements..the same picture emerges.

Just last year I believe..a banking scandal emerged..whereby **Jewish Banking was working accounts for the Palestinians.

Several individuals of lesser charge were tossed to the crowd for sacrifice..while the Jewish **Family Banking power bloc was shunted aside quietly from Public assay.
We can question formats like Oslo..Road Map.etc..ponder why third parties are carving up Israel.
Yet the glaring truth is..**Jews themselves are carving up Israel..*They are the ones at the ship helm which is the whatever current status the Palestinian peoples find themselves.

Israels media walks instep with some bizarre hidden agenda which is dittled out in phases..the Jewish public are **Groomed to accept the changes as they come.
Technically..the P.A. is allready a state...
What remains is if Jews will live on the other side of the Wall in the future..places like Hevron.
It would seem the *Agenda is to present the settlements as untenable..introduce the need to dismantle them ..with the general Israel populaces backing.
The more the wall goes up..the more closer comes the time for the setlements to be dismantled.
From my view..the only dicey point now is Jerusalem.
If the U.S. Admin does not openly acknowledge Jerusalem as Israels legitimate capital..then the writting is on the wall.

A. Israel wakes up and starts killing its enemies
B. More dead Jewish children.
Israel's psychopathology staggers the mind, soul, and heart.
This will never be trumpeted by the major media. Israelis are murdered and slaughtered, that's not news. Arafat gets a hangnail and Western Civilization has gone to hell and the newspapers hemorrhage ink.
