which shows he did say "never". His views are very flexible at this time, they probably won't be when/if he is in office.

Only if you ignore that he has said he wouldn't raise taxes from the very beginning.

I think its 11 days....it will get crazier. Ooooo. I can hardly wait!
But, it won't really be over then will it?
There'll be at least 1000 threads in the News/Activism section for 2 more weeks at least on the outcome of the election that'll continue on and on and on................

**The lt. gov. stays in place if Arnold wins. It's a separate race in this state. **
Would that race take place right away? Any idea?
To: mrs tiggywinkle
It only happens if Cruz wins the election. Then I think he might be able to appoint a lt. gov. Not sure of that.

Arnold thinks the Indian casinos should pay their fair share of taxes since they are raking in the billions of dollars. The poster was being a little bit sneaky with his comments, making me wonder why.

Indians are not even considered US Citizens!Hey Chad - you're a U.S. citizen, aren't you?

Well, perhaps Mr. Latranyi needs to take a look at the Citizenship Act of 1924.
Tell me, Mr. Latranyi - do you have a problem if another state allows smoking in public places, and yours doesn't, or do you only apply this standard to Indians? I'm curious to know...

He is running ads on TV promising to raise taxes on the tribes. I have seen them 6 time in two days. Check his web site...At least get your facts straight. He isn't promising to RAISE taxes on the tribes, they don't pay any taxes at all! He thinks it is time they do, that is the truth.

Indians were declared members of "foreign nations" and later "wards" of the U.S. government until 1924, when President Coolidge signed legislation conferring on them U.S. citizenship. Indians for some reason were not granted citizenship when the ex-slaves were under terms of the Fourteenth Amendment, Section I.

I'm gonna be really polite here, in my reply to you, but as an American Indian it's an interest of mine.
Just an FYI - the indians pay their fair share of taxes - Federal Income Tax (and, on top of that a billion or so in indian money that went 'missing' during the Clinton Years). They just dont' pay state taxes on money made on the reservation. If they work off the rez, they pay state income taxes.

I have a general question. If someone tries to do a post without realizing it on a "locked thread", can it mess up "my comments" afterwards?
To: ladyinred
And Arnold will be unable to tax the indians on teh rez - Federal Law dicates he can't. What he will do, however, is try to renege on the compact that was made between the tribes and the state and demand more 'fees' be paid.
He won't be able to do anything, legally, until the compact comes up for renegotiation. Sorry.
