Generally, yes. And I held off on voting for that reason. Well, among others; I suppose that Tom could make(have made) a big run late, regardless of Arnold getting sleazed.

Arnold is more of a conservative than the other so-called "Republican" in the race is. Arnold is not the one siphoning votes for Bustamante.

You have a very narrow field of view, as of course I also. But my experience is different - most of the time people don't even know who McClintock is, though they do recognize Arianna - not tht they intend to vote for her. Very few voters would have watched the debate.

It will be like our federal govt in which we have a Republican passing liberal legislation.

Which is still better than having Davis/Cruz at my state level and better than having Hillary at the Federal level.

We NEVER get it all in life.

Does anyone have a plan that is worth warm spit ? It is a matter of muddling through, for any Republican under the circumstances. It will take a combination of negotiation, personal charisma, public relations, brinkmanship, vetoes, you name it, changing by the minute in that shark tank in Sacramento.
And it will involve, without good fortune, more defeats than victories.
What plan could you make ? Even if you had one, would you want to reveal it ?

This really is asking for the moon.

R-nulled has been a spoiler since the day he entered the race. He's either going to kill the recall, or get Cruz elected.

It's Time for the Recall ExTerminator to Drop Out!

Yes McClintock has some great ideas.

As does my cousin Doug.

But McClintock is as electable as my cousin Doug.

So we will keep Davis.

Why don't the RINOs "compromise" for a change and vote for Tom?

We voted for Bill Simon and we lost. Bill now supports Arnold. We compromised last time on the Governorship. It's your turn. Even Bill agrees.

The RINOs did not vote for Bill Simon. They actively undermined him every step of the way.

RonDog, you know this is true. Admit it.

I share your cynicism.
California is shot down the liberal toilet forever.
The place is gone. There are simply way, way, way too many parasites and whore politicians who pander to them. It doesn't matter who the next governor is or whether the swirl of the toilet bowl speeds up (Bustamante) or slows down (Schwarzenegger). It will still be swirling.

What, Bill Simon lost by a few percent in a state that is only thirty-five percent registered Republican because RINOs didn't vote for him? Once the choice was made in the primary, we stuck the Simon stickers on our cars and cringed when he made goofs, but we carried the flag. There's many, many independants in this state, a lot of them voted for Simon, but just not enough.

Which promise will Tom keep? I'm confused.

He could keep both, actually. Staying in "to the end" can mean up until a day or two before the election, *then* withdrawing. Or he could stay in and yet still make a public annoucement that he wants all his supporters to vote for Arnold, for the good of California. Either way he'll have stayed in the race until the end, *and* not been a spoiler.

I'm not sure if it'll happen that way, but I'm just pointing out that it's not necessarily an either-or matter on the two promises.

"You do a lot of long-term damage to the party if you blow this election. The stakes are even higher than Arnold thinks."

Couldn't agree more.

you post some dumb ass and insulting crap on these threads,
but Arnold is more of a CONSERVATIVE on anything is horse manure, and NO ONE knows where he stands on most things...

he is a movie actor and has star power and will govern like a Bloomberg in NY... that's if he survives the sleaze dump than Mulholland has lined up for him.

Your problem is Arhuld isn't siphoning votes away from Bustataxes... he's down to 10% of Hispanics and his negatives are approaching 50%, sure looks like a strong candidate to me, nothing but star power, doesn't stand for anything but getting anointed and can't draw from the fastest growing demographic. McClintock may just save the backstabbers by staying in to the end, which is what he promised he would do. Deal with it.

noooo, the problem is LOTS of Rinos voted for DAVIS, if you can believe it, they took their ball, after Dicky Riordan lost and went home. So after conservatives vote for a Rino like Wilson for eight years, the asswipes of the party sit on their wallets and even vote for the enemy
when things don't go their way... and yet expect conservatives to kiss their ring in the recall!

Maybe its not going to work that way anymore... ;^)

Yup. and will govern like a Bloomberg in NY... that's if he survives the sleaze dump than Mulholland has lined up for him.

And your proof for this is ...?

Post proof, please.

Post proof, please.

sure looks like a strong candidate to me

Me too. He IS kicking McWampum's skinny little booty, isn't he?
