I listen to the talking heads on TV month after month, cycling through "oh gee, the possibility of peace in the Middle East is near at hand!" to "oh gee, does this latest terrorist attack mean the prospects for peace are dead?".

Over and over, around and around and around.

I guess they don't remember that they've said it all a dozen times before.

Powell's pathological reliance on bad actors (Arafat, Chirac, Annan) has set back Bush's longterm goals irrevocably.

Bush's poll numbers went south right after he renewed Arafat's lease on life. The great majority of Americans are ready to take the fight to the enemy(s), if only Colin Powell would get out of the way and stop muddying the water.

Colin Powell will cost Bush a second term in his quest for the approval of America's enemies, foreign and domestic.

The only way to bring Peace in the region, is to finish the war....
Kill Arafat, defeat the militant Islamic thugs.
Then dictate the terms of peace..

All else is BS -- as the past decades should have proven.
