After his performance last night, I don't think there's much chance of Bustamante winning the recall. A lot of the votes he might have had a chance of getting will now go to Camejo and Schwarzenegger. As long as McClintock is in the race, Schwarzenegger will seem more centrist, and attract more of those votes.

I think the chances have increased that the recall will fail and Gray Davis will stay in office. If McClintock stays in the race, that means more votes for recalling Davis.

After last night, I'd be less surprised to see the GOP take 1st and 2nd, than I would to see Davis survive the recall.

Looking forward to the next substantive poll.

I agree with you on this point. Try though the media does to spin this (for the sake of controversy and ratings), the recall got a boost last night with two sane Republicans ready to take charge. Cruz' "We spent too much, it's not rocket science" condescension didn't go over well either. And NOBODY defended Davis or gave good reasons not to recall him, especially not Cruz.
