You can NOT be serious!! Bush gets FACTS from all kinds of sources...why would he waste time reading second hand stuff??? That's the sign of a good manager and smart person. It would be like a CEO reading The National Enquirer.....geesh. Yes, im serious. Bush is a big boy and can distiguish rags from quality news. I dont see why it is such a big deal to open up a newspaper with your cup of coffee in the morning and say "Yea, I sometimes look over the headlines..." (which I have to believe he does)
Sounds alot better than "No...I got people to do that". Just doesnt sound real plugged in to me. (yes, im still voting for him, just trying to view it from a middle-roader)

Think seriously for a moment. In the last few years, have you ever really seen anything in the morning newspaper that you didn't already read about on FR the day before? Don't you think the President might have pretty good access to news long before it hits the morning rags?

He also pointed out that he gets his news from the people who make it - Condi Rice was his example. The papers are editorializing and filtering what Rummy or Powell or Condi said. He gets it directly from them. I doubt Powell would forget to mention that Chirac is being a jerk for example.
And that doesn't even cover the FBI / CIA and military briefings - all of which are better than one gets in the NYT. The liberal media has their knickers in a twist about something on a daily basis - not sure I would pay much attention to the cause of the day if I were him either. Most of it is irrelevant.
