His promise expired several weeks ago. When it ended. Bow out gracefully.

Save that money and buy a clue instead.
Even 2/3rds of McClintock's followers are loyal enough to bolt him for the party to back the better Republican candidate Arnold on voting day.
McClintock has screwed the pooch and is no longer fit to hold an elective office or be ever trusted again.

He will NOT be backed against Boxer.
Hopefully he will be retired for good with term limits.

Now here is a reply that explains it pretty well:

...the reason the Dems have been thriving in CA for so long, is because Republicans have fought more with one another than Democrats...

Speaking as a life-long Republican who has long volunteered for the party here in the greater Los Angeles area even in between elections, I can attest to just how right you are on this point. The people who typically support a Tom McClintock (or Pat Buchannan, or Alan Keyes, or Ross Perot), are a mix of the ultra hard Right, and single-issue voters (2nd Amendment, pro life, taxes, etc.), and the perpetually disgruntled who are always dissatisfied with "the establishment." They make up roughly 2% to 5% of the electorate during any given election cycle. In a state like California with a very large Dem advantage in voter registrations, that small percent frequently makes a difference in tight local, assembly, and congressional races. They seldom have an impact on statewide and presidential races, however, although the recall is not a typical statewide race.

DO NOT BE CONFUSED! IF McClintock CAUSES A DEMOCRAT TO BE ELECTED IN CALIFORNIA THE McClintock's SUPPORTERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THAT DEMOCRAT! NOT WHINING OR PISSIN N MOANIN WILL CHANGE IT. NO PISSIN N MOANIN WILL PREVENT PRESIDENT HILLARY!

The 1/3rd of McClintock voters who won't switch to Arnold on voting day are the problem the Republican party has.

Guess she had great instincts because McClintock has showed himself a traitor to the Republican party in this race. He is never to be trusted or backed in any office ever again.

As has been pointed out before, rumors of McClintock's demise by his own party have been greatly exaggerated.

And if you calculate total campaign $$$ spent by or for each candidate, or even more impressively, cost per vote by candidate, McClintock's numbers are way out of line with talking head predictions... in McClintock's favor.

That's not counting who won the debate on the issues. Which McClintock can capitalize on in the coming days.

And it's also not including Schwarzenegger's kick to the groin on Thursday (expensive, special-interest-financed TV ads going negative on McClintock by name and image) in response to McClintock taking the high road and following the 11th Commandment during the only debate that Schwarzenboober showed up for on Wednesday.

McClintock, the underdog, held fire.

Schwarzenegger, the $$$, movie star gorilla and mental midget, kicked McClintock in the gonads.

Unfortunately for Schwarzengungrabber, McClintock has huevos of titanium.

Let's have a chorus from Arnie's Angels, y'all:

Ooohhh, Arnold!!! Ooooohhhhh!!!!!

;-)

He will NOT be backed against Boxer.

He isn't running, Tony Strickland is.

Lots of words, but the fact is Arnold has the bull of the votes, not Tom. Only about 1/3rd of current Tom's curent backers will still attempt to sink the Republican ship on voting day.

Tom is a proven trouble maker and is history.

If, for some odd reason, Tom hangs in for the election, one of them still wins, probably Arnold, but 'Rats still are meted out humiliating punishment! Don't forget to hound me mercilessly I'm wrong on that prediction ;) 166 posted on 09/24/2003 10:52 PM PDT by Axenolith () [ Post Reply | Private Reply | To 84 | View Replies | Report Abuse ]
