"If its any consolation the state's potheads would agree with you.
They along with Davis were constantly calling Lundgren the "ideal conservative"."
I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to your pothead remark and how it bears on our "discussion" of Lungren. It appears that posters like yourself and Roscoe simply like to post cryptic responses without really engaging the questions. I have asked both of you why you don't think Lungren was conservative and the answers have not been forthcoming. I'm not asking for chapter and verse, but a couple of examples that would stand up to scrutiny would be nice. Otherwise, I would think that when you say a conservative can win in CA, but dismiss Lungren by calling him "no conservative," you're blowing smoke.

(I wonder if Tom McClintock will have to "make a reservation" to pay back all that money?)

Ill not split definitions with you mate. My point is that the founders of American independence had deeply held principles. Political expediency would have been an anathema to them and it should be to us.

And, remember, there were plenty of colonists who were still loyal to the crown during the Revolution. Yup, which is why Washington had to conscript an Army. Times change but seemingly the numbers never do. Ususally about a third of Americans are driven to do what needs to be done and later on another third get on board.

You make a false and unsupported assertion, it's easily refuted, you start babbling.

Also, the people for McClintock have no SECOND CHOICE. They could care less who becomes governor or remains governor if it is not McClintock to be chosen.
To: Roscoe
Rosco, it really never ceases to amaze me that some folks still pay you the slightest attention.

Ideal conservative?
NRA-ILA Grassroots Special Alert -- January 28, 1998
By NRA-ILA Grassroots
LUNGREN DECIDES GUN CONTROL IS OUT, GUN CONFISCATION IS IN
"Today, Wednesday, January 28, 1998, in Rocklin, California, Mr. William Doss presented his SKS Sporter rifle to local law enforcement for confiscation -- a firearm previously and expressly deemed acceptable by California Attorney General Dan Lungren (R). The crisis was brought about when Mr. Lungren initially determined that a firearm popular with shooting enthusiasts was legal under California's Roberti-Roos 'Assault Weapons Control Act' -- only to reverse course later and pronounce the guns illegal..."

" He'll [McClintock] become persona non-grata in the GOP."At least he's really GOP and not a trojan horse.
Even a good friend of mine, who's a Clinton Liberal to the left of Marx laughs, "ARNOLD IS A DEMOCRAT."

I want to commend you for attempting to infuse rational, courage, and conviction into a debate with the Koolade-drinking, French-acting Republican defeatists who are backing a not-so-stealth Liberal.

I was just surprised that you didn't know it was RFK Jr. since Arnold's wife is a Kennedy.

The squabbles we have here on FR are with the Kool Aid drinkers who do. They are a distinct minority <<
Yeah, McClintock is consistantly outpolling Shriver on Free Republic OVER and OVER again, but let's just PRETEND his McClintock supporters a "distinct minority" on this forum. The old liberal playbook. If you don't like the results, just ignore them.
By any chance do you think that the Supreme Court ruled only "5-4" for Bush and the "majority of the American people were against the war in Iraq" Now that's you've embraced liberal logic, you need not pay attention to the real results anymore.
