"I will tell you the reason he came out of Europe early had to do with integrity and character issues, things that are very near and dear to my heart."

Just guessing, but dollars to doughnuts it's this.

This is all coming together. The timing and nuances are very intriguing.

Schwarzkopf's speech yesterday was almost exclusively based on INTEGRITY and CHARACTER and doing what is RIGHT.

And he Bashed NIXON and CLINTON as being liars. I think he went as far as he could without saying Clark by name, but it is very very curious he chose this topic and in the same breath, basically endorsed the work that Bush is doing, that when the nation was attacked, he immediately did "rule 13". "Took charge."

I would guess there is a circle of generals who will be coming out more and more against "Clark" for various reasons, including performance and ethical behavior.

Interesting, but Shelton distinctly says that Clark was brought out of Europe early due to the character and integrity issues, which means it has something to do with his performance/behavior over there, IMO.

Although that is an excellent further indication of his character, I don't believe that was what General Shelton was talking about. He was home BEFORE he go the medal.

In fact, Clark received the very first of the newly minted medals during his retirement ceremony June 23, 2000, presided over by Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric Shinseki.

The article said that he got the campaign medal at his retirement ceremony. He was yanked from Europe well before retirement.
