As I was spinning the dial last night, I came across the NBC Evening News during a segment about the success of U.S. policy and the performance of our troops in a place formerly known as Saddam City. It went on to note that the newly established Iraqi Police force were performing admirably which allowed our troops to concentrate on other tasks, such as water, sewage, rebuilding efforts, etc.
I was absolutely dumbstruck and need conformation from someone, anyone, that this did air and what do you suppose those a-holes (NBC) are up to?

You were not seeing things...pMSNBC ran that package twice in their 5 to 6AM hour.
have you seen some of the articles this morning that the Dems are calling the media biased in re: Iraq? Talk about a 'through the looking glass moment'...the Dems complaining about biased media. Lucifer must be setting up the hockey rink...

I saw it too. No idea what NBC is up to. Maybe that Democratic Congressman from a couple of days ago who criticized the relentlessly negative coverage got through to them, a little. More likely, they want to have an example of when they were "fair" to point to.

As amazing as ABC news ripping apart Teddy Kennedy's recent Bush remarks last week on the nightly news. Something's up and I can't help smelling a Clinton in the woodpile.

I suspect they are starting to realize that they, as well as CNN, are losing credibility by their intellectually dishonest coverage of the war.

If you're smelling a Clinton in the woodpile, it is possibly because Hillary Clinton has no desire to see a Dem elected in 2004. That would ruin her chances in 2008 (and I really don't think she wants to blow her chance by running for the WH in 2004).
Anyway, all this negativity about Bush is being reflected in the polls, and the Clinton's are doing an UH-OH, if they keep talking down Bush, repeating "quagmire", and "Vietnam", maybe a Dem could win in 2004.
So come on media, let's give the public a little more positive news (i.e. the truth) so we can be sure none of the 10 dwarves win the 2004 election.
Just MHO.

I suspect they are starting to realize that they, as well as CNN, are losing credibility by their intellectually dishonest coverage of the war. Perhaps. Rush did an interesting take on the media yesterday. Isn't it interesting our news media travels around with not a worry in the world of being targeted? You suppose that's because of the anti-U.S. spin all the time? And if accurate coverage of our success were aired, that maybe the terrorists would be inclined to try to stop it?
To: bullseye1911
My suspicion is that the lamestreams are going to clean up their act just enough to fall below the Congress' radar until the flap about negative coverage blows over - then it will be back to business as usual.

Or perhaps the fact that Murdoch (Fox) got the go-ahead to purchase Hughes and their Direct-TV and the realization that the competetion just got tougher?

Very funny you mentioned this!! When I saw this report last night I went to the bathroom to check if I accidentally took some form of over the counter hallucinogenic rather than my vitamins.

I also suspect they have ears pinned to Rush, Hannite and other conservative talk shows to see what is being said about them. With the latest ratings, they had to do something, even if it is against their normal Bush bashing and anti conservative BS. This may just have been a token news blip to get better ratings.

What happened was a "bi-partisan" ( mostly Democrats ) group of congress-critters WENT to Iraq, and came back with pretty positive reports. One or two of the DEMOCRATS lashed out at the media for mis-reporting the situation, and for endangering American lives by making it look as if we were indecisive and weak.

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. There is a dead racoon in an unreachable part of my attic, and the stink is just beginning to dissipate after 2 weeks. Unfortunately for the dems, they just keep wallowing in the Clinton stench, like pigs in slop.
