Did Reagan ever say he was ashamed to be a Republican?

Sadly, this is a mandate that Tom McClintock has completely ignored. Almost single-handedly, he has done a remarkable job of playing into cherished liberal stereotypes of conservatives as thin-lipped Puritans who glory in deciding who is and is not a real Republican. The way he has conducted his campaign has finally legitimized the criticisms of those who have for years protested the Republican Partys supposed lack of inclusiveness. Rather than welcoming centrist and swing voters who support Arnold into the Republican Party and then explaining why hes the better choice, McClintock has instead taken the low road.

Ouch! That smarts.
Failed Recall Election Candidate Solidifies Support
California's absentee balloting continues for the 16th day today. The California Secretary of State's staff is quoted as saying over 600,000 votes have been cast so far. (1) Secretary of State Shelley was shown on FoxNews several hours ago stating that 700,000 absentee ballots are now in.
California's Recall Election is taking place.
Votes are being locked in. These are votes that can never be reclaimed or designated for another candidate.
One candidate has chosen to continue to urge his supporters to cast votes for him even though polls show that he can only expect to recieve little more than 1/8th of the total votes.
Bustamante continues to benefit from this tactic. Sadly, votes that could help a republican opponent defeat Bustamante are now being cast for a man that can only help him to win this election. Please wise up Tom.

After tomorrow nights debate, the Benedict Arnold will be the laughing stock of the State. People will be saying to Tom, "Thank you so much for standing strong, I didn't realize that Arnold was nothing but a pretty boy like Clinton, and hollow to the core. Now I can make the right decision, knowing its nothing but lies when they say Tom can't win."

Like Davis' 1994 attacks on Dianne Feinstein comparing her to Leona Helmsley, McClintock has shown willingness - even eagerness - to criticize his opponent, often unfairly. Gray Davis ran for Lt. Governor in 1994. DiFi had no primary opposition then. The writer of this column has no clue.

Schwarzenegger expressed disgust with the Republicans who impeached Clinton. "That was another thing I will never forgive the Republican Party for," he said. "We spent one year wasting time because there was a human failure. I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period."

CRO columnist Carol Platt Liebau is a political analyst and commentator based in San Marino, CA.If there was ever a home for snobby "country club" Republicans, San Marino is it. What a pathetic and petulant piece.
The RINOs have become desperate beyond almost any measure.
This article certainly demonostrates their level of hatred towards McClintock.
Hell, they'll vote against the recall before they'd allow McClintock to be governor.
Fifth Columnist scum. All of them.

Tom McClintock told Rep. Dan Burton (R-In.) that he is willing to see Cruz Bustamante win this years election, as it would boost his own chances for 2006.

Tom McClintock told Rep. Dan Burton (R-In.) that he is willing to see Cruz Bustamante win this year?s election, as it would boost his own chances for 2006. Did Arnold offer to pay child support for Burton's bastard child - conceived in an adulterous relationship - in exchange for his endorsement?

Meanwhile the globalist business leaders and other country club Republicans in Name Only have legitimized the criticisms of those who have for years protested the elitist Republicans' insistance upon enacting liberal, big government policies under the guise of being "centrist" or "moderate". Schwarzenegger is bought and paid for by the liberals who have taken the low road by adding a big hollywood name as a spoiler in a race that was a conservative's to win.

Unlike you, I would like for the Republican party to grow, and not shrink to the size of a suburban high school.

Have you really stooped to that kind of silly argument? Maybe you should take a break from FR and get your head back on straight.
