President Addresses UN General Assembly
9 Sept 03 | Suck My AR-16

BUSH GOES BEGGING TO UNITED NATIONS

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/09/20030923-4.html

Why is it that he speaks to the UN and not the people of the United States ?

Why is it that he always says "America" ? THIS IS NOT AMERICA, this is the United States. He is not the Chancellor of America, he is the President of the United States.

Is his allegiance first to the UN ?

Instead of Fixing things in the United States he says;:

* We Will SPEND An additional $1.2 billion for the Afghan reconstruction (is that on top of the $87 Billion ?)
* "we are rebuilding more than a thousand schools" (In Iraq)
* "we have helped to supply and reopen hospitals across Iraq"
* "we are rehabilitating power plants, water and sanitation facilities, bridges and airports" (In Iraq)
* The USA wants a 'new Security Council resolution, which will expand the U.N.'s role in Iraq"
* "We have pledged $15 billion over five years to fight AIDS around the world."
* "We're providing more than $1.4 billion in global emergency food aid, and I've asked our United States Congress for $200 million for    a new famine fund"
* "The American government is committing $50 million to support the good work of organizations that are rescuing women and
   children from exploitation"
* "the United States of America is committed to the United Nations"
* "The founding documents of the United Nations and the founding documents of America stand in the same tradition"

Today in many news programs, they are discussing the "need" for a coalition in Iraq. There seems to be a consensus now being pushed by socialists in Manhattan and Georgetown to cave in to the UN and the demands of the most socialists of nations. They apparently do not know that it is to late. Iraq is already being divided up and looted as they double speak.

Iraqi economy up for sale

BAGHDAD -- Iraq was put up for auction yesterday following the announcement by the country's U.S.-backed administration  that foreign investors are to be allowed to buy complete control of Iraqi enterprises, with the exception of the oil industry.

(So much for your dollars helping the people of Iraq)

Bush hasn't gone begging to anyone. He has spoken to the American people, numerous times, and he will continue to do so.

The poster with the low class name doesn't know nuanced put downs. President Bush handled the UN today beautifully and with great dignity pointed out to them their many failures in allowing terrorism to breed, in that very chamber.

Peach,

Check the original date tag on the article - September 9, 2003. This does not even appear to be current!

Agree with you on TODAY's speech!

Your Humble Servant...

An interesting question since the President had an extended interview with Brit Hume on Fox News Monday night, before his visit to the UN. Oh, but you probably couldn't be bothered with watching that since it would have provided answers to your questions and that would have spoiled your day.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$1.60 billion per day since September 30, 2002! So what's the big issue. If no one here ever mentions this debt that only occurs by the pols that they vote in office why get upset over money going to other nations. As old Tom Jefferson said, what this nation needs is a good-old revolution every so often & now is the time.
