Again, I don't enjoy disagreeing, but you're just mistaken. Scwarzenegger has VERY CONSERVATIVE advisors. He's got VERY CONSERVATIVE CA assyman John Campbell advising him on economics. He's got CONSERVATIVE think tank Hoover Institute supplying other advisors, and they will do his audit. And on it goes.
He does have this liberal stooge Buffett which should never have surprised anyone, since he is after all aiming to govern a very mixed state and when Buffett shot his mouth off, Schwarzenegger immediately slapped him down, in public -- and not a negative peep since.
Again, the standard of comparison is BUSTAMANTE. Even accepting your too-negative 30% -- Bustamante is NEGATIVE EIGHTY PERCENT.
Isn't 30% better than -80%?

It all really comes down to how Arnie is going to govern. He might swing to the center to get votes and then actually slap down some of the wackiest proposals from Sacramento, but Cali's biggest problem is fixing the state budget. I'd ignore Arnie's moral liberalism if he had a solid plan for fixing the states finances. But it seems like he doesn't.
I don't think Arnie has the cojones to spear the golden calfs of California politics; the teacher's and public sector unions, the trial lawyers, and the environmentalists. Arnie has even said that he won't touch the state education budget. At least McClintock has a plan with regards to the state budget.
I'm also disgusted w/ AS's pro-gun control stance. Mr. Big Tough Guy Action Movie Hero should realize that guns have value and shouldn't be following that whiny wimpy socialist position.
