Guess it would be a little suspicious to call in sick huh?

Fawnn re: financing... I have an interesting story to relate. I wanted to go to the Valley Forge Rally for AMerica so much in April. a local FReeper was going to drive w/me & share expenses (needed, as I had just had car repair done & really did NOT have the cash for the trip..gas money). I have been on very tight finances this past year.

His girlfriend from France surprised him by visiting the night before. I went to bed at 10 just sick about it all.

woke up at 2 & thought. shoot, I am going money or not. I knew it would be very close financially. Rally & all was wonderful. I had half forgotten that my gas tank was on fumes when I drove out of the natl park.

I passed on road a car with hood up. I stopped & asked if they needed to use cell phone etc. The man asked if I could drive him up about 5 miles.. I said sure. He had just had some type of foot procedure done & walking tough. Oliver was barking at him like crazy.. the car was a wreck... looked like a good break-down candidate. The man also looked pretty poor.

When we got to the elderly uncle's home the uncle came out & pushed some money into my hand. I said.. oh, no... I was embarrassed as it was ON THE WAY & I always try to help people. Uncle told me that I was their angel that night. THe young man's wife was sick & really wanted him by her side.

I wish I was in a position to give them the money instead..

BUT as it turned out that 20 was the money THAT I NEEDED TO DRIVE HOME & THEY WERE MY ANGELS.

This happened this spring. I have never shared the story with anyone..just not right opportunity

Beautiful angel story.

I'm convinced my angel was a dog that showed up on my parents' doorstep Christmas Eve 1993. No time to tell the entire story, but "Teddy" (named by nieces and nephews on Christmas day) got loose and ran away in the fall 1994 -- right before I sold my home and had to move into a "no pets allowed" mobile home community.

I could have found a home for him. Instead, when he ran away, he disappeared into thin air. (I'd worked at the PD until 1992, so all of the patrolmen at that time knew me -- and my dog. Nobody ever saw him anywhere!) Teddy helped me in too many ways for his appearance in my life to have been an accident.
