IMH this is a critical article to not only understand the "peace party" but also to understand the dynamics of current elections.

There is very little in this analysis that hasn't been said before. Prior to World War II a small and vocal "peace party" existed; it had quite few luminaries amongst its ranks, like Charles Lindberg, a very outspoken advocate of appeasement. After Pearl Harbor, there wasn't much more to be said.

Comparing the Korean War and the Vietnam War to the present situation is spurious; it could have been argued (and it was) that neither conflict was in the best interest of "national security". But the destruction of the WTC and the 3000 innocent lost lives makes the appeasement crowd look like the morons that that are. The far left never changes its agenda - to destroy the Republic and usher in a mutant 'democratic socialism' in which 90% of taxes go the vermin and not one cent to national defense. They seem really short-sighted because if there is no US there will be no social welfare programs. So either they are 'useful idiots' or they have another agenda. I say, "Peace Through Superior Firepower."
