Sorry to be so short on facts, but a new book ("Blood Money") charges LBJ with ordering the JFK hit.
The author is the former business partner of the man he accuses of setting it up (??? Clark), and claims there is no doubt in his mind as to the truth of the allegation.
Apparently LBJ was about to be indicted on another murder charge, and saw his ascendency to POTUS as his way out.
Absolute zealotry must be maintained--witness the Strike Hard tactics of PLA Gen. Xiong Guangki at Tiananmen Square, June 4, 1989.
Three shots, three shots only, though the first shots were blocked by the live oak tree.
Though the alleged shooter had no motive, a defective scope mount, no chain of evidence to the alleged weapon, no nitrates on his right cheek, no means of patching the curb by Tague, no means of making Kennedy's brains disappear from the stainless container--and dozens if not hundreds more anomalies.
The same Gerald Posner who served CBS' 60 Minutes and Mike Wallace in slandering Christopher Ruddy to protect the "suicide" of Vince Foster produces 600 pages of regurgitated Warren Commission pabulum.
And we all know how "depressed" Vince Foster was--so depressed he forgot his Honda keys, until Craig Livingstone thoughtfully brought them to the morgue.
Arlen Specter creates a Magic Bullet of Commission Exhibit 399 which "appeared" on a stretcher not related to either Kennedy or Connally, a projectile of mythic qualities, able to turn corners, cause wounds, remain unscathed.
That it had to have entered a shallow back wound without exit does not dissuade the absolute zealots.
That it had to have emerged from a wound of entrance is nothing to them.
That it was discounted by both Connally and his wife does not discourage them.
That its feat has never been duplicated is ignored by them.
Oswald with the defective weapon from the unlikely location--with bullets he never bought, without benefit of the magazine or clip required--
No matter that he was on the second floor drinking a Coke too soon to have come from the sixth floor.
No matter that the first weapon found by authorities was stamped Mauser.
Johnson dictated that the body would be removed from the legal jurisdiction; that the Commission would do the sole investigation; that it would rely on the FBI alone.
That Johnson would appoint the DCI whom Kennedy fired; that that DCI, Dulles, would state that he would not expect the CIA to tell the truth under oath--
That Oswald was using the address of the office of Guy Banister, veteran of Hoover's FBI and the CIA as well--
And in the final scene, the president's brain disappears, and his coffin (one of them) is dropped into the sea.
Special effects: thunder, lightning.
Wizard's voice: The truth may not be unsealed in your lifetime.
Support was provided in the very post you quoted, in the comments concerning frames 151 to 187. Consider also this.
Under this theory, the first bullet wasnt spent. It hit the pavement and/or curb and shattered, the fragments scattering down range.
It appears that the Warren Commission failed to adequately investigate the evidence supporting a missed first shot at around frame 160. There is no necessity to defend the Warren Commission Report in its entirety to conclude that Oswald acted alone. Your characterization of all lone-gunman theorists as unflagging supporters of the Warren Commission Report is unwarranted.

None of this 'support' addressed how a first shot at about frame 160, aimed virtually straight down from oswalds window, [a side shot at the limo] could have hit the pavement down by the underpass.

Yep, ~way~ "down range" to the right. More "magic" logic.

Sure does. --- Along with a ~lot~ of other "failures".

Your own efforts & previous words belie you. You can only be in denial..
Finally, something that their audience can comprehend.
Thanks for speaking up for the truth... If you believe the Ollie Stone/its-all-a-conspiracy lies, you are one of the KGB dupes.
Sometimes the truth is less interesting than the fiction. Fiction does laps while the truth is still getting its shoelaces tied.
After 9/11, I consider the loss of a President in office a secondary level of tragedy and loss to the nation, anyway. The obsession with the assassination of what was in retrospect not one of our best Presidents is overwrought and misplaced.
Is everyone being sarcastic? Or do people take Hollywood as the authority on matters of history?
I still labor under the misimpression of my recollections of that era. Silly me.
LBJ had no connection to the ilk of Bobby Baker, Billie Sol Estes? Even if he did have connections the idea that murder and assassination would be used as a means to cover up crime is preposterous. It's never been done and it will never be done. Else Professor Stone would have told us. He cares that we know the truth, that we stop believing our lying eyes. Way too far out to even consider it happening. How dare you, Barr McClellan!
Find the truth in Hollywood and those hundreds of other books, Barr McClellan!.
"So, you want to know, who killed the President and connived in the cover-up? Everybody! High officials in the CIA, the FBI, the Dallas constabulary, all three armed services, Big Business and the White House. Everybody done it. . . ." Time Magazine, Dec. 23, 1991, describing the thesis of "JFK"
RE: Posner
"I can find the answer in "Case Closed" 99 times out of 100."
Not 100 percent. Neither are voice stress analyzers. But.. I believe that Oswald was asked directly, did you shoot the president? According to one google hit,
"When Oswald was being held at the Dallas police station, he told reporters, "I didn't shoot anybody." The news tapes of Oswald's denial were examined by a researcher using the Psychological Stress Evaluator (PSE), which is a lie-detecting device that measures stress by voice stress analysis. The PSE has been shown to be reliable in several tests. It is used by hundreds of U.S. law enforcement agencies, and it is accepted as evidence in more than a dozen states. The PSE tests done on Oswald's denial indicate he was telling the truth "
That has to be the most ignorant statement I have heard thus far about the JFK assasination. It is easy to call people wacky and believe everything the press tells you. but there is over welming evidence and testimony that proves Oswald was a patsy. In fact anyone that has spent anytime at all on the subject know's this. Oliver Stones movie was not left field at all........did you even watch it? This film was based on truths, and was very acuarate. by thw way try reading a book that is more recent. DOES ANYONE CARE OUR PRESIDENT WAS MURDERED BY THE REAL POWERS OF THIS COUNTRY?

Yes, there are conspiracy nuts out there, but that doesn't mean there are no real conspiracies.
He's got it all wrong. Jackie had JFK offed; and given his behavior it was a justifiable homicide.
This story will continue to have legs because LBJ covered up Castro's involvement in Kennedy's assassination.
It makes it look as if he's covering for himself.
: thumbs up :
I wouldn't count it out. Johnson was the single most ruthless Pol we've ever seen. He's also one of the worst Presidents we've ever had.
