General Clark is merely an unwitting "stalking horse", designed to weaken both Dean and Bush just enough to enable the Democrats' real white knight to jump in: waiting in the wings, Hillary Rodham ClintonHow about that? Mark Steyn agrees with me!

My mom and I were talking about this phenom - the liberals do not know what they believe - and they always say either they have to consult with staff or with the people.
I have noted, that Tom McClintock has NEVER - EVER - ONE TIME said any such drivel. Tom came out of the shoot - saying only one thing - I HAVE A PLAN TO TAKE CA BACK TO THE GREAT STATE IT USED TO BE. He didn't ask for approval from anyone - he already knew what he believed - and he believed what he knew was the right thing to do.

This analysis of Clark is spot on. If the dems are counting on him to show Iraq to be a 'miserable failure' then they've chosen a pot to attack a kettle.

It is hard to argue that Iraq was a disaster when, in the crappy little war you, General Clark, presided over, the most powerful military on the planet took 78 days of aerial bombardment to destroy just over a dozen tanksROFL bump

General Clark is a leader, ready to take the nation somewhere once he figures out where it is he wants to lead us to. That really inspires confidence! < /sarcasm>

Alas, Hillie is NOT the white knight. She will not waddle over the hill at the key moment to rescue the dems because there are too many variables with negative potential. If the economy booms into the first half of next year, the dems are lost on domestic economic issues. If Bush marches Saddam or OBL or both out into a press conference at the point of his .45, the dems are toast.
No, the white knight in 2004 will be PanderAl Gore. He will run and he will lose, but he will clear the field for Hillie in 2008. We know Cheney will not run in 2008, so it will be Hillie against a new guy, inexperienced and untested. Who will oppose Hillie in 2008? Who will it be? My bet is that Rudi will replace Cheney on the 2004 ticket and run for president in 2008. It won't be Powell but it might be Condi.
No Hillie, but Gore for the slimey sleaze in 2004!

Unless, of course, there's a third scenario, which, given last week's lamentable performance, makes a strange kind of sense. General Clark is merely an unwitting "stalking horse", designed to weaken both Dean and Bush just enough to enable the Democrats' real white knight to jump in: waiting in the wings, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Yep.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the creep doesn't blink. So, are we looking at a Dean/Clark ticket to go up in flames next year? Wonder what their theme song will be. Cake's "He's Going The Distance.... He's going for speed...." (but long ago somebody left with the cup).

enable the Democrats' real white knight to jump in: waiting in the wings, Hillary Rodham Clinton. It truly baffles me how anyone could consider this woman qualified to be presidential candidate. Her only qualifications are being first lady (to a failure of a president who's only legacy is Monica and to whom she stuck by thicker than Tammy Wynette could ever have imagined) and a partial term as carpet-bagging senator from loopy New York.
It blows my mind.

Clark will have to answer for his incompetence to HHQ (Hillary Headquarters). He's not carrying out his marching orders.
