You might want to gather info and contact local crime victims groups to get them involved in fighting this issue. Crime victims can and do put a lot of pressure on legislators. You will need info to give them besides this article. Bureau of Justice Statistics would be a place to start. Chicago is a high crime city and should have several groups, from rape to homicide.

You are on the money! I am so sick of people rolling over for illegal immigrants. It denigrates all the efforts of those who come here legally. It saps resources. It weakens what it means to be an American. The media seems to take the side of illegals (why am I not surprised?) so all the looney leftists get the attention. Where is the president in all of this? I love GWB but he has got to take a stand on illegal immigration ASAP.
