"Show me where he said he was ashamed to be a Republican, period, unqualified. I don't think he ever did."__________________________________________________________________
He said so in an interview published in the November, 1999 issue of George Magazine. He is quoted here by George Neumayr:
In an interview with George magazine, he expressed disgust with the Republicans who impeached Clinton. "That was another thing I will never forgive the Republican Party for," he said. "We spent one year wasting time because there was a human failure. I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period."
Please note: He did
not say he was "almost ashamed." He did
not say he was "somewhat ashamed." What he
did say was that he was ashamed of being a Republican for that entire year.
Schwarzenegger was also widely quoted in the mainstream media. Thomas Roeser in the Chicago Sun-Times:
As the conservative publication Human Events recalls, he had spoken out against the GOP in November 1999, almost a year after the Republican-controlled House impeached Bill Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice. Interviewed in George, the magazine edited by John F. Kennedy Jr., cousin of Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver, the body builder-actor declared he was deeply angered with the GOP's action against Clinton. ''That was another thing I will never forgive the Republican Party for,'' he said. ''We spent one year wasting time because there was a human failure. I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period. Instead of devoting all this energy and all those hearings to how we're going to solve the problems of inner cities . . . No, it's like 'This man has to be removed from office because he's a national threat.' Yeah, that's a good one.''
Schwarzenegger has no problem with a president who committs perjury and obstructs justice. And he makes it clear that he resents anybody who
does have a problem with such crimes.

So, I was right. He never said he was ashamed to be a Republican, period, unqualified.
Thank you for your hard work.
Of course, I totally disagree with his statement about impeachment, and am appalled at his having said that, can't imagine why he would.
But he never is reported as having said he was ashamed to be a Republican, period, unqualified.
By contrast, he has often and loudly said he was proud to be a Republican, even in an industry that loathes Republicans.
Go, Arnold!

Pesky quotes.

Your efforts are admirable, but AS supporters don't listen to facts.
However, many of the lurkers in this forum have seen the truth
about Arnold's campaign supporters after reading posts such as yours.
Keep up the search for truth! IMO, it does make a difference.
