Schwarzenegger: McClintock a Pawn of Pro-Bustamante Indians
NewsMax ^ | Spet. 19, 2003 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 09/19/2003 8:52:17 PM PDT by FairOpinion

American Indians who are supporting Democrat front-runner Cruz Bustamante in California are also promoting Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock, and GOP front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger is furious.

"I think that as far as Tom McClintock is concerned, I think the question I have for him is, what side is he on?" Schwarzenegger said Thursday. "Is he on the side of the Republicans? Does he represent the Republicans, or does he represent Bustamante?"

Schwarzenegger suggested that the tribes were abetting Bustamante by trying to split the Republican vote.

"They are financing his commercials and TV spots and all that," said Schwarzenegger, who doesn't take money from Indian tribes. "He knows they're financing him not because they want him to be governor. They just want to interfere with the process so that Bustamante wins. He has to decide which side is he on, the Republicans' or Bustamante's."

McClintock called Schwarzenegger's comments "a ridiculous statement by a man who obviously hasn't paid much attention to California public affairs. ... For 20 years, I have fought to protect sovereignty on reservation lands, well before there was gaming.

"If they wanted to hurt Schwarzenegger, they would be making an independent expenditure to hurt Schwarzenegger, and Lord knows there's plenty they could hurt him with."

Assemblyman John Benoit, R-Palm Desert, a Schwarzenegger supporter, told the Riverside Press-Enterprise: "I think the idea of divide and conquer is a tried and true tactic. I can't speak for the Indians, but if there was somebody looking to help Bustamante, this would be the way to do it."

If you think the social swirl in Hollywood grinds to a halt after the Academy Awards on Sunday, think again.

Tinseltown is gearing up for another major black-tie event, this one honoring Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday night.

Anyone who's anybody in Hollywood will be in attendance at "An Unforgettable Evening," the fourth annual charity ball co-sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue and the Cedars-Sinai Research for Women's Cancers honoring the First Lady with a "Woman of Courage" award.

Past Courage award recipient and event co-chair Anne Douglas said that the decision to honor Clinton was made before she announced her Senate candidacy. "She's being honored here for her lasting commitment to family, women and children."

The event is not billed as political, but the guest list offers quite an indication of just how much Hollywood is in the First Lady's corner.

Two showbiz power couples — Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, and Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg — serve as honorary chairs of the event. Joining them will be Barbra Streisand and James Brolin, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Candice Bergen, Bette Midler, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Sherry Lansing, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, and Glenn Frey.

From the FEC records. You really should learn to use Google, it's really handy:

BUFFETT, WARREN E
OMAHA, NE 68132
BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY

CLINTON, HILLARY RODHAM
VIA HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON FOR US SENATE COMMITTEE INC
03/15/2000 1000.00

Mr. 'Close-Friend-and-Mentor' also has given to lots of other lefties, including Chuckie Schumer and Dungheap Commie Tommy Harkin.

Not to speak of the large contributions to Planned Barrenhood, and his stated intention to leave the lion's share of his 30+ BILLION dollar fortune to them.

And you can look those up yourself.

Robert has already succeeded in twisting my words. I have repeatedly pointed out on this thread that Arnold has close friends and advisors around him who, yes, have financially supported tons of leftwing Dems, including Hillary. I posted the FEC filing above to prove it, even though it has been common knowledge on FR for weeks. Everything else I have said is easily verifiable.

Arnold also has some other radical leftists around him in other capacities, including some very radical enviros--Robert Kennedy, Jr being the most prominent.
