"Some kids jay walk, some kids drive too fast and some kids break some infractions
He was a young, young man." Since when AWOL has become a child's mistake?

Alright look the other way everyone. If you say anything about this, or even mention that Arnold's pants were wrinkled yesterday, YOU are a Bustamante supporter.

And BustaMecha belonged to a radical latino seperatist group that sought to take back the south western United States by force if neccesary.
The point is?

Oh PUH-Leeeeesse....
If that's the best they can do, they better pack it in. Seven days AWOL?
Funny how character questions become such a vital issue when the candidate is a Republican (even if considered a RINO by most) but nothing but vile character assassination when a Republican questions a Democrat.
I wasn't eligible for a good conduct award my first hitch either. I would imagine a lot of FReeper vets could say the same.

Schwarzenegger should say that he went AWOL from the Austrian Army because he was ashamed that he wasn't serving as a United States Marine.
This is the *Austrian Army*, for Pete's sake. Who the Hell cares? Go get some goat-yodeler in leather short pants and suspenders to get indignant about this.

"Schwarzenegger climbed over a wall and attended a body building competition..."Definitely puts his heart into whatever he is doing.
In any event, the extent of the opposition research into Arnold is amazing. Tells me that the Rats are running scared. BTW, any recent polls? Hmmmm. Most curious. Oh, I'm sure the LA Slimes will out one this weekend with "Support for recall slides further, McClintock surges past AWOL Actor" headlines or somesuch. (Pool-422 adults, 198 Davis appointees and 17 Indian tribes. MOE 45%)...

This is pathetic even for muck rakers. And exactly how relevant is Austrian military service relating to the Governor's mansion in CA?
Bustamente must be spooked.

While admitting it was a serious violation, Austrian Consul General Donald Burns downplayed the incident. "When his commanding officer found out about what had happened (Arnold won the competition) he said 'This is so good for the army, you can now train as an official part of your military experience.'"

LOL, he went AWOL to go compete in a body building competition.
To: gubamyster
he was also busted for possession of an Ayn Rand book when he was only 16!

I don't think Arnold is a Communist.

This is another serious violation of Austrian law for which Arnold should be made accountable.
Arnold should be forced to do 50 push-ups, and 50 sit-ups for this terrible infraction...,,,...,,,...what's that you say? this was when he was 18? and he's done 100's of thousands of push-ups and sit-ups?
CASE CLOSED...another non-issue brought to you by your friends at the Davis/Cruz camp.

Frankly, I don't care about this. What concerns me more is that Arnold is AWOL from the GOP platform and conservative ideology.

The dems are doing their opposition research by reading Arnold's book
The Education of a Bodybuilder.
While I am not on board the Arnold bandwagon, this is a relatively minor thing.

This is a non-issue.
More importantly, I think a candidate for governor of the largest state in the union, should be engaging in debates with his political opponents, show he's a fiscal conservative and take a no tax pledge, and not wait until after the recall election is over, to release some specifics of his economic recovery plan. Any good conservatiuve candidate would take such actions, if he/she was a real fiscal conservative. Arnold keeps proving he's not a real conservative and for good reason. Arnold is a liberal RINO.

The AWOL seems like a minor point in comparison to his laughable undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin (Superior). I have not, as yet, researched his graduate degree, but would not be surprised to find that it is a sham also.

This ranks right up there with George Bush's 24-year-old DUI that Al Gore's campaign conveniently made public the weekend before the 2000 election.
The man did something stupid, got caught doing it, and was punished for it. Nowhere in this hatchet piece does it make any mention of Arnold trying to deny what happened, or making a big deal about the "unfair" treatment he got. OTOH, Arnold's spokesman comparing this incident to kids jaywalking was way out of line. That was a truly stupid thing to say, and Arnold needs to make that twit do 500 pushups.
