No, he is saying that Tommy Boy doesn't have a prayer of emerging from a primary, and will also get to experience the joy of lavishly funded primary opposition in his state senate district.

He's talking about defeating him in a primary. If McNader screws over the Republicans this year, you can bet his future in California politics is going to be pretty non existant.
