OAKLEY, Calif. (AP) - A Freedom High School freshman has run up against opposition in her quest to start a Caucasian Club.

A local NAACP leader says Lisa McClelland's proposed club, which would be open to all races and ethnicities, smacks of racial division, a charge the 15-year-old denies. McClelland says she and some of her friends simply feel a bit slighted since other school clubs cater to specific cultures and races, such as the Black Student Union and the Asian Club.

So why does the NAACP and other black organizations talk about black pride rubbish that goes nowhere? Or do you argue that when they do it, it has some sort of value??

I respectfully disagree. I don't need to form a caucasian club to get warm fuzzy feelings about being white. What I do is teach young children European history,literature, and culture. Actually giving someone an education is better than whining about not having a race club when everyone else does.

I think the analogy is that like-minded seperatist notions are not treated as equally racist. Blacks that promote the "black power" thing and advocate marrying within their own race are not considered racist within the popular media, however, whites that do the same are.

If this article was about the NAACP, I'd be saying the same thing. Since you inquired, I think most of what passes as black pride IS made up afrocentric garbage. It has no value to me.

Your point is well taken. However, I don't detect any whining in her position...she may well be, as Rush would say, "demonstrating absurdity by being absurd."

What I find laughable is that the girl that started this club would not be eligible to marry many whites since she's not quite white herself. See where this idiocy goes to? Ridiculous. Doesn't matter as long as the person is respectful and loves that person.

First you’re assuming that the idea of a club tailored for a specific race is wrong. Why? Try this idea on for size. Freedom of Association. That means we are free to associate with whom we chose, and to NOT associate with those we choose not to. Do you agree with freedom of association? No? Please explain why.

What is wrong is not the clubs based on race, but that only some races are allowed to form them.

Some times it’s beneficial to force an absurdity in front of peoples eyes to make them, or others, see the absurdity of their own actions. She’s forcing them to show their bigotry and they are clueless. But perhaps someone who has never considered questioning the race warlords before will step back and see the situation for what it is, and begin to critically analyze the proclamations of the ACLU and their ilk.

A woman wrote a column about how proud she is to be black, and she would die if her son ever brought home a white girl. WOW... the editor of this magazine, a black hair care mag, said she couldn't believe the hate mail/subscription cancellations they received. I was thinking to myself, what? did that author expect her readership to agree with her?

Anyway, the leftist liberal media is evil and wicked. The popular media just loves stories like this. Maybe that girl was trying to make a valid point, but in the end the liberal media will make her look like a loon.

Also from the article: "It'd be tight because they can learn more about their history," said 14-year-old Tyleisha Crooks, a fellow freshman at Freedom who is black.

Both Crooks and Perez signed the petition in support of the formation of the Caucasian Club.

Sounds like this student group would allow people of all races, colors and nationalities to join and study the history of the Caucasians. It doesn't read like she's trying to form a racist student union, at least to me it doesn't.
