At 10:30 a.m., Dominion Virginia Power reports the following outages: 19,800 on the Peninsula; You'll have to forgive me.
I've only been in virginia since this spring.
And while I realize I live on "The Shore" I've lived on the DelMarva Peninsula for so long that it has taken me until about 10 minutes ago to realize that when a reference such as yours says "the Peninsula" it's referring to something entirely different than what I am used to.
Now if I could only figure out what area it refers to????

Historically, the Penninsula is the area between the Pamunkey, York and James Rivers, from east of Richmond to Fortress Monroe. The Chickahominy cuts through the western and central parts of the Penninsula.
Williamsburg, Yorktown & Jamestown are all on the Penninsula.
