Been to Kansas, which is close. Some trees, not as many as NC and they're shorter.

Over half of the state is nothing but dense trees, lakes, and vegetation. People's misconception about OK is from movies seeking to portray our state is backwoods hick farmers. I am amazed at the number of people that still think OK is nothing but Indians and tumbleweeds.

As far as the pissing match on these Isabel threads about which is worse, a hurricane or a tornado; I would say that they both suck pretty bad and I want to avoid both at all times.

I live about 60 miles due south of OKC. In my front yard I have a pear tree and half of an apple tree. In my backyard I have 4 large oak trees and in my sideyard, I have 3 very tall pine trees.

Texas and Oklahoma are not made up of short, stubby mesquite trees even though there are a number of the mesquites around.
