Another is a growing rift over the alleged anti-Semitic nature of Mel Gibson's film, The Passion.

Yes but the growing rift is not with the evangelicals.

Patterson insisted that a messianic Jew be part of any Jewish-Christian dialogue.
What a doofus. Patterson and his power-grab politics is the main reason that I'm no longer a Southern Baptist.

Thanks for the ping Salem!

I'm a Christian and I have a destiny in Israel. :) I stand with Israel and the Jewish people. I'm 100% behind them in their war against terrorism.

Those who hate the Jews usually hate Christians too. The good news is that OUR God is going to clean their clock in the not to distant future! :) The thought kinda gives you the warm fuzzies doesn't it? lol

I'm so glad the knee-jerking on both sides is being set aside. I owe my deep appreciation of the Jewish people to my Lord, of course, and to one person in particular: Dovid Winnierz. I worked for a short time at the National Council of Synagogue Youth. As a Christian, it was a very good learning experience.

There was a young man, Stu, who did not approve of my presence because of my faith. Dovid, on the other hand, patiently answered all my questions about Jewish traditions. When I recognized how certain garments or personal "ceremonies" (for lack of a better word, sorry) were performed in deference to G-d, in acknowledgment of His power and as acts of humility, I knew...in my heart...that something powerful had just happened to me. An awareness, an understanding, an appreciation and respect I did not have before.

May these two sides continuing coming together for good of all!
