Florida BUMP!

I've spent the happiest years of my life there. Here's hoping my current assignment to Iceland, by way of Maine, is a limited, if chilly one.

To Mrs. Cut: Hope you're enjoying the sun, Sweetheart. I'll be back as soon as I can, give the baby a hug and a kiss for me!

How are you this a.m.?
Please get well and stay that way.

Lovely job! Wonderful.

I sincerely have always had a question about people who live in Florida. What about the heat and humidity though? If you live there all year round, doesn't it get real bad in the summer?

Morning to the Finest.

And thanks for the well wishes Meg and Tooters. I'm fine, just battling a seasonal cold. Keeps me from thinking strait. That is the most frustrating thing.

Good morning, dansy! Since I can't find any errors to comment on, I thought I'd return the favor and do a poem instead. :-)

Dansy did a thread on Flor-ida
Not even once did I snore-ida
Even though the state brings back bad memories of Gore-ida
And if you don't start making more errors in your threads, poems like this you'll get more-ida

Thank you for the tour of Florida. I sure do hope you get to move back there real soon!
I have been to Florida, have visited Miami, Orlando, the Keys, Cocoa Beach, Flagler Beach and St. Augustine. All very beautiful. I love being by the ocean.
When I was in the Keys, my friends son (age 5 at the time) found a beautiful conch shell. He gave it to me and I was so grateful, but thought he should keep it himself. He insisted and many years later it sits in my kitchen.

I am back home in Florida after living away for most of my life.

My family can trace their ancestry to at least the mid 1700's in Walton County, Florida. I guess we are late comers since the state was settled in the early 1500's.

Something not many people know is that Florida's First congressional district (the panhandle) has been rated as the most conservative in the nation. I once read that in a book by ex-congressman Earl Hutto.

I always thought the panhandle was really country until I spent a Christmas vacation on my Uncle's orange grove in Polk county. That place was even more redneck than the area I grew up in. BTW those rednecks (or crackers) are among the finest people on earth.

Thanks for the memories Dansy. I spent 10 years of my life in Miami and 3 of my children were born there. It is also where I met Jack. Fla. does have some beautiful spots. There is an old saying that if you go to Fla. and get sand in your shoes you will come back. I guess that's true for you, but I've never missed it for a single day. Too many horrid memories associated with it. Thanks for the "sunny" thread however.
