By the way, I have nothing against Sequoia Voting Systems, they're just trying to sell their voting machines. But how could the 9th Circuit unquestioningly accept a study saying punch card machines suck when that study was financed by a company trying to sell a competing product? These 9th Circus judges are a joke and a disgrace.

The two counties, in northern California are more than 80% white and had a 3% error rate. In other words, the ACLU's claim that minorities were being disenfranchised by the punch cards has, of course, NO BASIS.

Ummm... I believe in California whites are a minority.

This just shows that the ACLU is not representing minorities. They are representing Democrats.

What kind of precedent is this, to postpone an election for this stupid reason? And on such flimsy evidence at that!

Well then, we might as well postpone the Presidential election next year too for some shady reason.... It's a recipe for fascism!

This is dangerous. And if the court really had overwhelming evidence, then they should ORDER that new systems be deployed in time for the election, or some other remedy. But postponing an election is straight out of the banana republic playbook. This is something Arafat would do, or Charles Taylor or Idi Amin... NOT SOMETHING you should expect from court pledged to uphold the Constitution of the USA.
