Mojo, THIS particular song was the #1 hit in the summer of 1983.
I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, and two buds of mine and I went off post in their car - I was the out-of-state kid, and they were both from UNC-Chapel Hill...
Anyway, I can remember that song blaring on the radio as we went cruising down the drag of Fayetteville.
Thanx for the 20-yr-old blast!

Thanks Kathy. That was Stu that was spit upon up there in your neck of the woods.

Fascinating, thank you. Somehow, echoes ring in today's wars, although not the same. We can't be that ruthless (Caesar was lucky that CNN wasn't around), and the Gauls, Germans, etc. weren't the same as the Muslims.

The engineers and everyone else who work behind the scenes were as valuable as those who were on the frontlines. It was true then and it is still true to this day.

If you are keeping score from earlier, Bobby school has been cancelled THursday and Friday. And he will be getting an early dismissal from school tomorrow. Talk about a blow off week at school. This is one of those weeks! Hehehe!

To all the East Coasters - I hope Isabela only passes us by but it would be prudent to prepare for the worst. Take care everyone and stay safe.

Wow! You keep finding pictures of all these scenes I used to wish I could see from my office window. Now all I have to do is check here daily and I can (see them) -- and I don't even have to open the blinds!!! ;)

Thanks for reposting the touching post of Txradioguy. I still get choked up every time I read something like this. As tragic as this event was, we saw that the American Spirit is still alive as evident in the heroic deeds of those who helped out.
