That is wonderful. I am a Webelos leader and the leadership hesitated getting me an assistant. I complained and complained until I finally got another adult to work with me.
Thank you for your service. You are right, the prey is there and Scoutmasters are figures of authority and children can easily fall prey.
Thankfully, the numbers of occurences with the Scouts is limited (at least public). It is a very wholesome organization that encourages morality. It doesn't prevent it from happening, but hopefully, the safeguards can reduce the number of occurrences.

The Dad's (& Mom's) in your Webelo's Den should volunteer to be Scout Leaders....All it takes is they fill out the BSA form and pay ten bucks.....Get two or three to do this and you can rotate your assistants so they won't complain about the time commitment.....
Scout's and Cub structure are entirely different....Cub's are adult lead where Scout's are "boy lead"....
