Send a salami, to your boy in the army, that's what I say. Kosher salami. And don't forget the bread (rye), and a jar of mustard.

These soldiers should want for nothing, including faux pizza.
If anybody has any info on websites or message boards from the troops that detail requets for personal items, please list them.
Thanks.

Whoo hoo! Another way to help the troops. Thanks, lowbridge!
Whether it's pizza or pickled meat, for a soldier with access to the Internet, it's just a click away.
This has possibilities. If you know any businesses doing special things for the troops, please share.

Papa John's is our family's favorite pizza. Unfortunately, they don't deliver to us out in the sticks here, so we don't get it very often. My son worked for them for a short time, and it was a really nice place to work, he says.
Shrewd business move, making their "good deed" public, but still, a wonderful thing for them to do. Kinda reminds me of the "Adam's Rib" episode on M.A.S.H.

That's the famous sign hanging in Katz's delicatessen (lower Manhattan) since WW2.

I was searching for the definitive New York hot dog and I ended up at the definitive New York Deli. They should charge admission. More entertainment value than half the plays on and off Broadway. And the food. What food. By far, the best pastrami sandwich ever made. Plump grilled all beef hot dogs. Matzo Ball soup. Knishes. And, French Fries cooked in chicken fat!!! If ever a place deserved a 6th grease stain... |

Woohoo...my son said the Iraqi's make a pizza but is not something he craves. I sent him a toaster oven along with a supply of boboli pizza crust, sauce & toppings, unfortunatly the day the toaster oven arrived their generator went out, him and his buddies ended up eating it cold.

Man, I need a Dr. Brown's Celray soda. You know, I never did develop a taste for that stuff... But Dr Browns makes a great creme soda too! It's been too long since I've been to NY... I miss "real, Jewish Deli corned beef." If I go back any time soon, I'll be going off the Atkins diet for a few days... Pizza, Jewish and Italian Deli, and some really amazing Italian and Chinese food... Kansas City just doesn't have it...
