Here's another one from the republican league:
Who We Are:
The CRL is a permanently chartered Republican volunteer organization, founded in 1964 to insure that the Republican Party represents the views of the majority of California Republicans. We are men and women, old and young, members of all races, creeds, tax brackets, and sexual orientations who welcome all persons of like minds. Membership is not limited by any bias or prejudice. We encourage all citizens who want to elect more Common Sense Republicans to all levels of government to join us.
Status of the Party:
Control of the California Republican Party is currently in the hands of a group of individuals who do not have the support of mainstream Republican voters. These individuals represent only the extreme right wing of the party, and therefore, the majority of California Republicans are without a voice in the state party. Control by the far right of the state party has been disastrous for out Republican candidates and representatives. Their policies, statements, and actions have lead to the defeat of Republican officeholders at every level of government throughout California. If you agree with out mission statement, we invite you to help us bring out Grand Old Party back to the Republican majority! Join the CRL!
Yank the Plank!:
It is undeniable that the majority of California Republicans are Pro-Choice, as are the majority of Californians. The State and National Parties' position on abortion is not only contrary to the views held by a majority of California Republicans, but is proving a liability for Republican candidates in their attempt to win votes from Independents and Democrats. Therefore, we are currently working with other Republican groups throughout the state to delete all direct and indirect references to abortion in the California Republican Party platform and the national Republican platform. We say, "Yank the Plank!"

I wonder what some of these Arnold-haters would have said if Arnold had not been courageous enough to keep his party affiliation: what if he, like Ueberroth, had run as an Independent to avoid this expected flack and pick up more moderate and independent support? Then, when Republicans (still) flocked to him, would he and they still be RINO's?

Good lord!!! They think the current elected officials are too "conservative"??? As opposed to what idealogy exactly??? Well I guess they are right of Lenin, and they feel that is a bad thing???

And Lose.

Hello AlwaysConservative:
After you were so nice, I come back at you...
I wonder what some of these Arnold-haters...
I do not believe that many people here "hate" Arnold, we just do not politically align with his views. He MAY be fiscally conservative (though the jury is still out) but to say he is liberal on social matters is an understatement. (i.e. Pro-Choice, Pro-Gay, Anti-Gun, etc. etc.)
Then when he "flips" (though it could be handling...) it does not reassure us that he is not a Democrat in Republican clothing (aka RINO).
But no, I don't hate him, if Tom can't win, I hope Arnold wins, he is the lesser of two evils...

Funny you should mention Lenin.
Arnie has a thing for him as well!
Schwarzeneggers sprawling office within his company, Oak Prods., contains busts of Lenin, Reagan and John E Kennedy (whom Schwarzenegger admired, he says, even before marrying Maria Shriver, JFKs niece). A group of bodybuilders from St. Petersburg brought the 3-foot Lenin head into the U.S. after the Soviet Union dissolved and presented it to Schwarzenegger.
The next year, they wanted to top themselves. When they unveiled (a bust of) Stalin, I said no. I had to explain to them why, he says. Lenin was not as evil. He was just in the right place at the right time. But Stalin was evil. He was a dictator beyond belief. There were questions of who was more evil, Hitler or him. For the record, there are no plans for a Saddam Hussein statue in the Oak offices. Saddam didnt start anything great, he says. But Lenin started communism and the whole Karl Marx thing. He started something that lasted 70-something years.

>>"These are specifically Republican endorsement."<<
This list is specifically Kalifornicate Republican endorsements.
The one name I'm disappointed in seeing is Duke Cunningham.
Perhaps they think that the R next to Schwarzenkennedy's name will somehow help them, but when has this ever worked in Leftie La La Land???

Why don't you read the quotes from Arnold's convention speech.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/982088/posts "Reviving California's economy is my first priority. One thing you can count on -- I will not raise taxes to make up for the mistakes the politicians have made."
"Let me tell you what being a conservative means to me. I'm a conservative because I believe communism is evil and free enterprise is good. I'm a conservative because Milton Friedman is right and Karl Marx is wrong. I'm a conservative because I believe government serves the people, the people don't serve the government. I'm a conservative because I believe in a balanced budget, not budget deficits. I'm a conservative because I believe money that people earn is their money and not the government's money. And when you look at the drivers' license outrage, I am a conservative because I believe in the rules of the law, not political pandering."

"Why do you feel that Reagan Man is outside of what you think Reagan would have us do? It is a fair question..."
===
Because Reagan understood the value of compromise, and those evoking his name don't, they use the scorched earth strategy, which BibChr summed up so well.
In Reagan's own words:
""When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn't like it.
"Compromise" was a dirty word to them and they wouldn't face the fact that we couldn't get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don't get it all, some said, don't take anything.
"I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: 'I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.'
"If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it."

Yeah, right. Read my lips.
"Let me tell you what being a conservative means to me. I'm a conservative because I believe communism is evil and free enterprise is good. What did you expect him to say at the convention!? Speeches don't impress me -- actions speak louder than words. The man sleeps with a leftie; I don't trust him.
To: calcowgirl; SauronOfMordor
in another thread "SauronOfMordor" explained this quite well:
===
in his 1977 autobiography, Schwarzenegger said he reached a deal with a legendary figure in the bodybuilding industry "to pay me a weekly salary in exchange for my information and being able to use photographs of me in his magazine."
That arrangement, said a half dozen immigration attorneys across the nation, appears to have violated the terms of his visa.
"It allows you to come in to conduct business, but to be gainfully employed you need a visa that allows you to be gainfully employed in the United States," said New York-based immigration attorney Steven S. Mukamal. "It would seem that Mr. Schwarzenegger violated his own status."
Arnold performed no work, so it's not a "salary". He licensed permission to use his pictures and talk about him in the mag in exchange for a license fee to be paid in weekly installments.

If Ronald Reagan could speak out, he would be appalled and outraged, at whats taking place in his home state. Reagan wouldn't recognize the Golden State GOP any longer. Not only is California in total meltdown, but the state GOP has lost its credibility and is on automatic pilot, cruising towards self-destruction. The California GOP has totally abandoned the conservative agenda of the party platform.
Politics is about winning and holding power, but not at any cost. For a conservative Republican, "not at any cost" means, not at the cost of electing a liberal.
Throwing away, setting aside or surrendering ones conservative principles to elect a liberal like Schwarzenegger, the next governor of California, is not my idea of winning either.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
I don't live in California.
I've been a Republican delegate over the years here in Colorado. Many years ago, I was a junior delegate for the New York State Conservative Party convention.
Btw, nice pic of PresBush remembering the Twin Towers. I found that pic myself and posted it on my profile page just after 9-11.

No mention of "licensing" here.
"Mr. Schwarcenegger is paid by Weider International for stories he writes for various publications and for pictures of himself. Another fringe benefit is the fact that he purchases Formula #7 and other Weider products at cost. (Tr. 303) He, also, consults with Mr. Weider about once a month on the subject of physical training. (Tr. 316) "

And.... just last week he said he had a "resident visa" when he first came here in 1968.
