Who was the last sitting governor to die in office?
I know fieldmarshaldj will know.
I recall a SD governor named "Miller," I think, who was killed in a plane crash more than a dozen years ago.

The Governor of Missouri who was running against John Ashcroft for U.S. Senate (about 3-4 years ago). His wife won his Senate seat.

All week they've been calling it a stroke too. Evidently it was an aneurysm.

Nice guy, old-style democrat. The funeral will be dignified, unlike Wellstone's. He was well-liked by both sides of the aisle. My prayers and sympathies to his family.
To: My Favorite Headache
Of course, the guy earlier, first with the news was doing the O"BannIon thing.

How quickly I forgot about the MO governor dying in the plane crash. There was a SD governor who died in a crash earlier. I don't think a TX governor has died in office since 1949, Governor Beauford Jester. Yea, that was his last name, "Jester."
