In just six days, more than 3,500 Californians registered on Meetup.com to attend Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor meetings across the Golden State, instantly making the Schwarzenegger meetings one of the most popular political destinations on the Web site.
Since Sunday afternoon, 33 meetings for Schwarzenegger supporters have been spontaneously scheduled across California. The meetings were not organized by the campaign.
I am so proud that so many Californians are rising up to take back their government, stated Schwarzenegger. They may have replaced their pitchforks with laptops, but make no mistake we are leading a peoples revolution in California.
The fact that in just a few days, over 3,500 people registered for meetings for my campaign is proof that my message of change and reform is being heard loud and clear across California.
According to the companys Web site, Meetup.com, an online tool to organize offline groups, was launched in the summer of 2002 to help foster local community everywhere. Meetups are free, monthly events that take place at cafes, restaurants, bowling alleys, bars and other local establishments. People of all ages and interests have flocked to Meetup.com to connect in the real world, face-to-face, on over 1,800 topics in over 591 cities and towns spanning 44 countries around the globe.

It seems that a lot of influential Republicans, including the White House asked Tom to drop out, but he refuses.
===
Pleas for Mr. McClintock to quit the contest have come from a variety of sources the White House, working through surrogates in California; leading elected Republicans in the state; and the Schwarzenegger campaign. Mr. McClintock has stood fast.
"He wouldn't respond to pressure, even from the White House," said Mr. Spillane, who is not working for any gubernatorial campaign. "It's not in his nature. He's a maverick."

Used to be an unwritten rule here that in every hundreth thread on a topic, someone should make a statement that did not appear in each of those last ninety-nine threads.

He's no maverick. He is either delusional or so self-absorbed of an individual that he'd rather see Cruz elected than Arnold.

Wow Arnold supporters, this is great!
So when you are all huddled together in your "Cyber-Meeting" perhaps you can discuss Arnold's positions amongst yourselves, and then explain how Arnold's positions sound like BustaMEChA's.
They read like something that would exist on BustaMEChA's website. That isn't where Arnold got the idea for these thoughts of his.... is it?
Arnold Schwarzenegger's views in his own words:Pro Gun Control
- "I'm for gun control. I'm a peace-loving guy." (Time magazine cover story, Aug 18, 2003) When interviewed on the issues by Sean Hannity on August 27th, Schwarzenegger admitted that he is for gun control. He said he supported both the Brady Bill and the ban on so-called "assault weapons." He said, "Also I would like to close the loophole of the gun shows." When asked by the Sacramento Bee to detail his positions on gun issues (scroll down), Arnold stated that he supports legislation to ban .50-caliber rifles, force gun buyers to pass a state-defined test in order to purchase a handgun, and require load indicators or magazine safety disconnects on new semiauto handguns.
- Pro Abortion
Schwarzenegger appeared on FoxNews' "Bill O'Reilly" program in May 2001 and said he disagreed with President Bush's pro-life position. "I'm for choice," Schwarzenegger said on the program. "The women should have the choice. The women should decide what they want to do with their bodies. I'm all for that." When interviewed on the issues by Sean Hannity on August 27th, Schwarzenegger admitted again that he is "pro-choice". - Pro Gay Agenda
From Cosmopolitan magazine, "I have no sexual standards in my head that say this is good or this is bad. Homosexual-that only means to me that he enjoys sex with a man and I enjoy sex with a woman. It's all legitimate to me." He also supports gay adoption, despite the fact that both conservative Republicans and moderate Democrats voted by a 61 percent margin for Proposition 22, the Defense of Marriage Initiative, which defined marriage as that between a man and a woman. (Newsmax, 28 July 2003)
When interviewed on the issues by Sean Hannity on August 27th, Schwarzenegger admitted that he is for legalized "domestic partnerships" which would give gay couples the same benefits as marriage. - Pro Big Government Programs
Regarding the passage of Proposition 49, a big government social scheme providing funds for after school programs: "Every California child deserves access to a proven, quality, life-changing afterschool program, and now they will have it. My hope is that, as goes California, so goes the rest of our nation." When interviewed on the issues by Sean Hannity on August 27th, Schwarzenegger said that he believes that social programs should be focused on children. He said, "I think the important thing, again, is that we work on education and really make sure that the kids have the first run at our treasury."
In the same interview with Hannity, Schwarzenegger said that he supports big government programs to buy back leases as a measure to protect the environment. He said, "I think that our state government and our federal government should negotiate to buy back the leases [from the oil companies.]"
- Pro Environmentalist Agenda
When a reporter asked him in early August to detail his positions on the environment, he said "I will fight for the environment. Nothing to worry about." When interviewed on the issues by Sean Hannity on August 27th, Schwarzenegger said he did not support offshore oil drilling. He said, "No, absolutely not. I think that we should stop the oil drilling and I think that our state government and our federal government should negotiate to buy back the leases [from the oil companies.]"
- Pro Clinton/Anti Impeachment
In 1999, Schwarzenegger told George magazine of his bitterness about the frenzy over Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton and the waste of time and energy it represented. "That was another thing I will never forgive the Republican Party for," he said. "I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period."
- Soft on Illegal Immigration
In a radio interview with KABC radio host Larry Elder on August 27th, Schwarzenegger said that allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the United States is "the right thing to do." Last year, while campaigning for his Prop. 49 after-school programs initiative, Schwarzenegger...declared in answer to a question from the audience: "I would never stand in the way of any child going to school, whether he or she is here legally or illegally, it does not matter." (Sacramento Bee, 24 August) - Proposition 54
Proposition 54 outlaws the racial boxes Californians are constantly asked to check on state forms. Apply to a state college or enroll a child in a public school, try to get married, seek employment with any city or county, interact in any one of countless ways with the state or its political subdivisions, and you will be asked question about your race. Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger, who previously refused to take a position on the measure, said Saturday he opposed it. Schwarzenegger, speaking to Spanish language station KUVS-TV in Sacramento, said he believes "it is necessary to collect racial data for use in such fields as health and education." "If you take that out, it will be disastrous," he said. FOX News, 08, August
Justin Jones, a spokesman for the Proposition 54 campaign, said he attended an invitation-only event for Schwarzenegger on Saturday at a Sacramento hotel. As the actor was moving through the room shaking hands, Jones said, he approached him in an attempt to make a short pitch for Proposition 54, but was interrupted before he could identify himself or say what side of the issue he was on.
Jones said Schwarzenegger explained that he had studied the measure and determined it was a "no-brainer" to oppose it.
Schwarzenegger went on to say he believed it important that public schools be able to identify minority children to help "bring them up to the starting line. And if the right-wing crazies have a problem with that, so be it." Ventura County Star - SB60
SB60, which Davis signed Friday and touted over the weekend as he campaigned before a Latino audience in Los Angeles, poses grave security threats and undermines existing immigration laws, according to opponents who vowed to place the matter on the March 2004 ballot. The driver's license bill has become a rallying point for both sides in the recall campaign, which increasingly is focusing on immigration and racial issues. Many Republicans charge that Davis' support for the bill, after vetoing similar measures, is a desperate attempt to bolster his support in the Latino community. A Schwarzenegger spokesman said the actor will not support the referendum campaign but will seek other other ways to repeal the legislation. San Francisco Chronicle

Seems it will be an interesting Convention this weekend.....
The current state party chairman, Shawn Steel, is obliged to remain neutral. But Mr. Schroeder and three other previous state party chairmen, all conservatives, also have not aligned with either candidate. But they are expected to endorse Mr. Schwarzenegger on Sunday, the last day of the convention, if by then he has gone further than he has in opposing tax increases of any kind. So far he has not engendered the affection of many conservatives.
"Schwarzenegger has run a pretty liberal campaign, in some respects to the left of Bustamante," Mr. Schroeder said.
A large segment of rank-and-file conservative voters like Mr. McClintock's policy views but haven't endorsed him. They believe he lacks Mr. Schwarzenegger's celebrity and personal appeal, and so is unlikely to defeat Mr. Bustamante in a state in which Democrats have a registration advantage.

McClintock supporters have had their own "private" McC DAILY thread, which Arnold supporters didn't crash.
So what is the problem of Arnold supporters having something -- which isn't even on FR?
Meetup.com is a place, where anyone can start cybermeetings. Go to:
http://www.meetup.com/ and find out what it takes, and you can start your McClintock meetings too.
You also might ponder:
"No matter what anyone tries to do and say, I will never say anything negative about Tom McClintock," he (Schwarzenegger) said. "I respect him, I think he's a terrific man, and this is a decision that he has to make for himself."
Arnold has class. He follows Reagan's 11th commendment of not speaking evil of other Republicans.
Other Republicans could learn from him.

The Republicans seem to be biting their tongue to avoid saying negative things about Tom.
In an article there was a quote from Tom himself that for the past 20 years, he's been fighting the "Republican establishment". Note, he seems to be more interested in fighting the Republicans, than the Democrats.
