What was the court case and are these Dems still in a hotel in NM?

The case was whether TX redistricting violated the Voter's Rights Act, charging that consolidating or otherwise restricting what are now minority districts would weaken minority voices.

One Democrat returned from NM, allowing for a quorum, so the remaining are leaving NM in order to fight on the Senate floor. Many had already left NM, choosing to do a national promotional (fundraising) tour for the DNC, claiming that the TX redistricting was really a Bush porwer grab.

Do people really live in MI? I thought that they just existed there. Anyway, the chicken Dems went to one of their tame federal judges to try to get a minority rules the majority established in the Texas Senate. Even the tame judge didn't want to touch it so he put together a three judge panel which shot down the dems. They wanted the feds to set the senate rules instead of letting the senate establish their own rules. Now they have a whole weekend to cry on each others shoulders and complain to the media.
