ROTFLMAO!
I have seen plenty of Tom slams - hell here on this thread look back and see how much Tom satire in print and pictures there is.
This is a joke and you are defending it! Arnold himself said he was a social liberal. Was he lying? Or is the author lying - a supporter of Arnold?

That is classic! Who came up with that?
To: PeoplesRep_of_LA
Sound familiar?
In my inauguration speech on January 2, 1967, I informed Californians about the financial mess we had uncovered and promised to do everything I could, as soon as I could, to put the state's financial house back in order. We hired a team of independent auditors who documented for the people how bad the mess was, and then I went on television and said I had no choice but to ask for a tax increase. It was not an enjoyable speech to make. I'd campaigned on a promise to keep the lid on taxes, now I was asking for an increase. But I swallowed hard and said that as soon as I could, I'd make sure we gave the people some of their money back to them. Over the next eight years, we did just that four times, but that's getting ahead of my story.

How am I contradicting myself? By stating in so many words that you would only vote for pure "social conservatives" while presumably espousing support for people like President Bush who are arguably nothing of the kind. Either you vote only for pure social conservatives or you don't - there's no middle ground.
There are some social conservatives that are supporting Arnold.
Yes there are. That's because they know like I do that no one candidate is always going to agree with them on every single issue.
I am not one of them.
Then you are supporting Cruz Bustamante in this race. How is that being a "social conservative?"
When you start floating trial balloons and defending articles on FR that Arnold is a social conservative, you lose a lot of credibility on this forum
I think that the only people here who are "losing credibility" are the ones calling Arnold a Nazi or a rapist. In short, the "stone knives and bearskins" wing of conservatism.
Comparing GW Bush and Arnold on social issues is like comparing the night vs. day.
A statement with absolutely no facts to back it up. Keep it up - you prove my case for me more and more each time you post.
Comparing GW Bush and Arnold on social issues is like comparing the night vs. day.
Thank you again. Goebbels also used the technique of repeating a lie often enough so that people believed it.
Nice try but your not convincing anyone on this board.
My candidate is polling 40 plus percent in recent polls. What percentage of the vote is your candidate polling?

1. Do you have an archetype in mind for the "perfect" social conservative? Is there a "perfect" social conservative elected to public office anywhere in this country? Sophistry and straw-man aside on the use of the word "perfect"...
Ronald Reagan
2. Could you get them elected as Governor in California?
YUP! I believe he was even RE-ELECTED!
Now, using that as a benchmark, just how does SchwarzenKennedy rate? How does he rate against MCClintock?
What is SchwarzenKennedy if not "perfect" as you judge...
Or do we need that LIEberal sliding scale again...

Well, I'm certainly not going to debate whether Arnold is a social conservative or not. By my definition he is socially moderate to liberal. He has represented himself as a fiscal conservative, and that is a really good thing, especially for California.
However, these exercises in futility, debating whether or not he is a conservative, do not in any way remove the fact that the recall-election is a two man race, either Bustamante or Arnold is going to to win this thing.
McClintock is not going to pull off a Tortoise and the Hare win here. Though some can wish it all they want, it just isn't statistically possible. The numbers don't add up for a McClintock win. McClintock is either a spoiler for Arnold and a blessing for Bustamante'. I hope he will graciously step-aside, knowing that he may have impacted the race in a positive way by drawing Arnold to the right.
But that's the gist of this thing.
This thread is nothing more than tires spinning in mud.

I've seen strawmen arguements in my day, but that is one of the worst ever. Evasion noted. Now answer the question - How do you intend to stop "Arnold groupies" from posting here?

"Desperation" implies that my candidate currently has 4-5 percent of the vote, like McNugget.
Try 18, and climbing...
Let me know when SchwarzenKennedy's polls move above the last one's Margin of Error, OK?

I have seen plenty of Tom slams - hell here on this thread look back and see how much Tom satire in print and pictures there is. Yeah, they're pretty amusing.

It is a logical fallacy to make a blanket claim that Arnold was lying because of another person's opinion. Arnold didn't write the article.
You are indeed getting desperate if you have to muckrake nonsense like this in a desperate attempt to score a point.
