Rintense, that's wonderful that DOHS showed your tribute. I remember how long and hard you worked on them. You have a true gift for conveying the emotion of the times in your pictorials. Thanks for today's Dose -- especially the retrospective.
Today in one of the Waco suburbs flags lined all the major streets. Many years ago a scout made "flag waving" his Eagle Scout project. He contracted with homeowners and businesses to plant a flag in front of their home or business on national holidays, and to this day his old troop carries on the project. You pay $9/year and the flags are erected on small poles along the curbs in the morning and taken down at night. It's an awesome sight to see these flags lining the streets on holidays -- a sea of red, white, and blue.. It choked me up this morning to see the troop has added 9/11 to their schedule.
And on a scarier note, we had major weather this evening. There are unconfirmed rumors of a tornado earlier in Crawford. Hoping W's ranch was unscathed.

These two years have gone by so fast. So many people have come and gone, so many things have changed, but some things remain. Some people have forgotten, others still remember as if it happened yesterday. But the one constant in this big picture is that the resolve is STILL in President Bush's eyes. Today, it doesn't matter if his eyes are blue or green; it matters that he hasn't forgotten, and that he won't. God Bless President Bush for not backing down.

In the cases of these pictures from today and two years ago, a picture truly is worth a thousand words....if not more.
The picture when the President found out what happened--just amazes me. Thank you rintense for posting these pictures.

FYI:
I posted this analysis/information on another thread --
Fox News/ Opinion Dynamics just released results from their recent poll (conducted during the same time period as Gallup's poll):
Overall Job Approval (registered voters)
9/09-10/03 58% approve 33% disapprove (+25)
8/12-13/03 57% approve 34% disapprove
[Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, doesn't look like the President's ratings have "tanked" to me! Actually, his ratings have remained remarkably stable AND high (at approximately 60%) despite RELENTLESS attacks by the Democrats and their media enablers!]
Job Approval relative to Terrorism
9/09-10/03 65% approve 29% disapprove (+36)
12/03-4/02 66% approve 22% disapprove
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,97094,00.html ABOUT GALLUP'S POLL RESULTS:
If you analyze ALL of the data from this Gallup poll, you must conclude that the respondents were simply DOWN on all politicians:
GWB job approval 52% / 43%
approval for Congress 40% / 53%
Democrats 49% / 45 %
Republicans 50% / 44%
Direction of Country 40% right / 58% wrong
IN THIS GRUMPY POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT, PRESIDENT BUSH IS STILL MORE POPULAR THAN ANY OTHER POLITICAL ENTITY!
FYI:
A. Fox News/Opinion Dynamics polled REGISTERED voters while Gallup polled anyone who picked up the telephone!
B ABC News (the only other poll taken within the last few days) put the President's approval at 56% -- closer to Fox than Gallup!
WE MUST REMAIN STRONG -- FOR THE NEXT YEAR, DEMOCRATS/THE MEDIA/MOST POLLSTERS WILL BE WORKING IN CONCERT TO DESTROY PRESIDENT BUSH! WE MUST AVOID BECOMING DISCOURAGED AND RE-DOUBLE OUR EFFORTS TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AND MAKE SURE THAT OUR COURAGEOUS PRESIDENT GETS RE-ELECTED!!
WHILE OUR PRESIDENT IS THE WINSTON CHURCHILL OF OUR TIMES, WE DON'T WANT HIM TO SUFFER THE SAME ELECTORAL FATE AS CHURCHILL!!!!

"How thankful I am for the Godly leadership of George W. Bush during these days!!"AMEN to that,
I'm so glad that George W. Bush ignores the constant attacks by the classless democrats, just as I was glad that he didn't waste his presidency trying to do something Ken Starr couldn't, and that was bring Bill Clinton to justice. They just aren't worth it.
