Arafat's loving it. He blew up some Jews, got rid of Mazen, installed his crony, and gets accolades. Then he gets announced threats against him by Israeli politicians, and world wide proclamations protecting him in turn (notably not from the Arab world).

He's more adored, more powerful, at the center of the world for the moment. He's played this like the murderous gangster boss-pro he is.
