"With a Federal permit, it could all go away very quickly as well. This is a state issue, anyway."I agree...and given the AWB, it would probably(a federal carry permit) contain a "sunset provision" and we'd all be back at square one in a few years.
Far better to issue an Executive Order with the force of law that gives all states total reciprocity of CCW permits under both the "Full Faith and Credit AND the Equal Protection" clauses of the Constitution. In simpler terms, if your drivers licenses are good and valid in a state (or a protectorate like Guam or Puerto Rico), so too, are your premits to carry concealed firearms good in ALL states and the District of Columbia.

You're right. If my driver's license is good between the states (and some argue that the driving is a privilege and not a right), why isn't my license to carry, not?
Full faith and credit should apply. PA now has reciprocity with 11(IIRC) states now. That is something that we have been pushing hard with the outgoing AG (and failed candidate for governor) Mike Fisher. Of course, now that he is a lame duck and term limited, he doesn't even return our calls.

That's a good idea, even if eventually gets overturned by the Supreme Court. I wonder why the NRA hasn't purhsed that?
