Lol. I haven't followed those groups enough to appreciate the significance of what I was typing. Apologies to all Dead enthusiasts.

...the awesome divide between the postmodern sophists and everybody else is the real legacy of 11 September. Let us hope so. And may that "awesome divide" between the self-selected elite chattering classes -- including the "nine dwarves" hoping for President Bush's job in 2004 -- and sane, reasonable human beings grow wider still, to the point where said elite can be clearly recognized displaying itself in the public square, in the full light of day, as the arrogant, irrational, self-loathing, and America-hating irrelevancies they all truly are. Truly, "the Emperor has no clothes"....
And thus, God willing, the innocent lost ones of 9/11 will not have died in vain.
Thanks for the great post, quidnunc. I love Mark Steyn.

"All turban and no jihad" Classic Clever line, but I don't think the Moorags are called "turbans". Isn't that a Sikh/Hindu thing?
To be accurate, Moorags are best called "Dishtowl-and-a-fanbelt".

They should post that "Excerpted"- thingie at the top, that way one could choose whether to read the excerpted version or not.

As much as I would prefer quidnunc not to excerpt, and as much as I know that quidnunc's legal interpretation is absolutely wrong, under current forum rules he does have the right to post any article as an excerpt if he so chooses. Just as the rest of us have the right to post the full text of articles as thread comments (except when sourced from LAT/WP and related publications). Fortunately, the vast majority of FReepers hold the correct interpretation of copyright law and the right priorities when it comes to choosing whether to excerpt. There are a million reasons why my interpretation of copyright law is correct and the interpretation generally accepted here on Free Republic is wrong and each one of those reasons is preceeded by a "$."

Are Bushs approval ratings plummeting? Gallup has him at 59 per cent. In any case, he always takes August off and his numbers always slip as noisy Democrats run around filling the vacuum. Then September arrives, he comes back to work and they rise again. Its now an established seasonal variation.Daschle and paleocons "deeply saddened."
