Taps being played at Arlington.

Thanks, Dog. I'll keep this browser open and then open another for other stuff, just so I can keep track of the discussion. I will never forget. I have a website, and I have placed a picture with a link and an admonition to "NEVER FORGET!" on the front page. It's at
OPINIONS.

I will never forget the family members of the victims haunting the streets and hospitals with photographs of their lost loved ones, trying to find out their fate. That was what got me crying.

"Today is my birthday. It has become a morbid day for me, to celebrate my mother who passed away in Aug. 98, and the thought that this date which for so many years was just my day is now a date that History will never forget will make it more difficult."Today is also my son's 40th birthday. He is VERY upset that he must deal now with comments like, "Oh! You were born on the day the WTC was attacked, huh?" I told him that HE had had the day FIRST, and to just honor it and the people who died while he celebrates.

"Be sure to fly the flag today. I know many fly it every day. We've had so much rain here for months that I had taken it down. It's going back up today unless it pours rain."Amen. I had the same problem. But I bought a new flag especially for today, so it will go up as soon as my son gets his clothes on and we can raise it with some ceremony.

I just want to remember my friend Jim Walsh who was murdered two years ago today in the WTC. Today he would have been hoisting a few to celebrate his daughter's fourth birthday, but instead, she, her mom and her sister who was yet to be born and never met her father, will celebrate without him.

What a story - having your son right there and not being able to talk to your wife.

Unfortunately, I was driving, so I pulled over and just let myself sob. I had my (then) 3yo sitting on my lap while I was going through email. One of them was from a friend in Florida who had been in NYC the previous weekend. He had taken a picture of the night skyline of lower Manhattan from the Verrazano Bridge. He sent it to me with the words "A Moment of Silence, Please" superimposed across the top.
That is what set my tears flowing.

Please cease to lump all "Dems" together as if every one shares one borg-like mind... can you put at least some of this aside today? How many "Dems" died 2 years ago?
To: garv
Blessings on your friend, lost that day.

Sorry if I upset you; I was responding to some other comments about what is going on in the country today.
I will try to leave aside comments about the disgraceful conduct of some in our country - for today only.

That is one of their headlines. There is a similar thread on FR, but don't think there are many comments.

I expect the Saudis to get what's coming to them after the 2004 elections. The Demonrats can carp and snivel, but they will be less able to interfere.
