Two years ago I did my normal morning routine ~ coffee, shower, read the paper and log on to FR.

Immediately, I saw the headlines on the right column ~ Plane crashes into WTC. Second plane crashes into WTC.

I clicked on the links and sat here shocked as I read the news.

Normally, I don't turn the TV on during the daytime, but Sept. 11, 2001, changes were made. Tuning into FOX, there was Rick Leventhal reporting from downtown NYC and the chaos that followed.

One of my first reactions was to re-enlist in the Navy. Like all of us who served our country in the Armed Forces, we NEVER gave up the oath we took to "defend and protect" the Constitution and the United States of America from all enemies - foreign and domestic.

As time passed, I was glued to either the TV or FReeRepublic.

This evening, I will be making my way to the local ballpark. A program will be taking place there tonight honoring the 9-11 victims, police, firefighters, para-medics and the Armed Forces. Oliver North is the feature speaker and the local peaceniks plan to demonstrate outside the ballpark in protest of the selection of Col. North as the speaker urging the citizens to go home. I'll be there proudly supporting those being honored as well as Col. North. If nothing else, I'll work my way through the crowd to say a word of thanks to my fellow Vets, and those being honored.

One final comment on the events two years ago...

One item posted in those first few days in particular by our late FRiend, Chief Negotiator, told how a lot of us Vets were feeling in those days. Chief was saddened to hear the words, "You're too old, Marine."

Maybe too old to sign up again, but not too old to show our support for our President, the United States of America, and our Armed Forces.

So, Diver, How old are you?

Too...

There are lots of ways to support. And the people with Military background are valuable.
