Alas, you’re right about the crabs. Our 9 year old loves to “go crabbing.” She and hubby tend to catch just enough for her to eat before she gets bored with it!
I have a lot of great recipes for that fake crabmeat!
It's really a lot of fun. Everyone should experience the Wednesday swim and "parade" to the Fairgrounds at least once. But us "locals" tend to avoid the Wednesday swim and wait for Friday when they return the ponies to Assateague.
Watching the ponies come through the streets of town is an awesome sight.......but can be painful if one is too close to the street and a pony decides it doesn't like being herded!!!!
sounds good, I am there
I grew up watching that movie every year in elementary school. I had no idea it was actually in Virginia.
Dave, not sure I can make it to Legends. That’s a bit far for me to go during lunch (yes, I know it’s just across the river).
Don't tell me you are talking about "Misty"..........that movie has absolutely no connection to the original book.
I finally saw the movie when it came out on video about 2 years ago. My daughter and I were all excited and we planned a night to hunker down with blankies and popcorn to watch it.
When the movie was over she looked at me and said "Mommy, the book was beter." She was right, and she was about 7, which is how old I was when I first read the book....................in 1967. She and I had read the original book before we moved to Virginia, and she was 4 when we moved here.
No, this was an “educational” film about the ponys. I’ve never read the book, but I have it on my Amazon wish list.
Great job as usual Mudboy, er Slim, er Disco Dave.
