Some lesser-known talkers (Hugh Hewitt especially, from what I hear on his show) have truly begun to villify McClintock for not being a good obedient Republican and stepping aside for the Big Ahnuld Machine.

L.A. drive-time chatters John and Ken (http://www.johnandkenshow.com) challenged a caller to go to joinarnold.com/en/agenda and pick out the aspect of Arnold's agenda that he didn't like. The caller seemed to have a hard time, but I didn't: http://www.joinarnold.com/en/agenda/arnoldsviews.php#F1

The man wants the federal government to pay the extra cost of imprisoning illegal aliens in American prisons?! Give me a break! We should "move on" from Prop. 187, which was approved by an overwhelming voter margin then lynched in the courts by a left-wing judge with NO APPEAL?

It is blatantly clear that a vote for either Bustamante or Schwarzenegger is a vote for alien amnesty, which in turn is a vote for more crime, more illegal drugs, poorer schools, more closed hospitals, more disease, further wreckage for the environment, and the continuation of the rapidly accelerating decline in quality of life for all Californians.

If dimbulbs like Hugh Hewitt, John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou would show a little support for the lone candidate capable of doing some true good for the state, rather than being hypnotized by Ahnuld-mania, McClintock would win by a healthy margin.

And it doesn't matter who the governor of California is; the hatred here for George W. Bush is absolutely incredible, and it would take a miracle for him to win this state in '04. Ahnuld alone won't be able to do it for him. Call me a pessimist if you want, but I actually live here and work amongst these socialist morons in L.A.

But they won't and they don't. John and Ken (and Handle in the AM if you get up that early) all acknowledge Tom's superiority. But they are also realists, who understand that a state stupid enough to put the Dims into power and to allow the legislature to spend us into a 3rd world country canNOT understand Tom's points. We are collectively a bunch of idiots. Asking Stephen Hawkings to address a kindergarden class will NOT make them physics professionals.

The reality is that we are so watered down that Tom is too smart for the room. I know many people who say that "all republicans are racists." Lots of them. So if the pig flies, you can't be upset if he doesn't stay up too long.

California needs an outsider--a non-politco--Tom's part of the system--Arnold isn't. Besides, Arnold will be more fun to watch as he tries to govern. Because he is an outsider he might really get a few things done. Its worth a try. Anything will be better than Gray or Bustedmonte!
