Yep, even when the Dems beat him he boasts about how well he did against other Republicans headlining the ticket. He's got some kind of complex.

In 1992, McClintock received the Republican nomination for U.S. Congress, losing the general election, although running 12 points ahead of the Republican top-of-ticket.

I heard the same thing you did. Guess everybody seems to be hearing different things since he's been asked the same question in 20 different ways today so it's quite confusing. The very last time Sean asked him the "if you're behind" polls, I heard him mumbling something about I would drop out and so should Arnold if I'm ahead. This is the first glimmer of "drop out" hope I've had. Perhaps we will hear more at the convention this weekend. Aarnold looked good with O'Reilly tonight...no whinning and complaining coming from him Arnold!

How is McClintock gonna win when he can't get more than 28% of the republicans to vote for him? Seems to me he's got a huge hill to climb and only 26 days left to do it in.....

An analogy might be made to serving in the Marine Corps. When I was a Marine, I was, naturally enough, under rigorous discipline. There were some aspects of that discipline that I disagreed with because I believed that they did not accomplish their stated purpose, or that their stated purpose was in conflict with the overall mission of the Marine Corps. I expressed my disagreement with certain orders from higher headquarters, even as I complied with them to the fullest extent and ensured that the Marines I had authority over did so as well.

My efforts resulted in several counterproductive policies being done away with or revised, and I am content that I contributed to my Marine Corps becoming a more effective fighting force because of those policy changes.

Arnold has always been a Republican ever since he landed on these shores and became a citizen.

Funny thing is Rush Limbaugh was saying the same things about him. Is he not a Republican? (check out today's Rush website).

If he wants to behave like a RINO, he better prepared for the consequences come voting time.

Same thing goes for Arnold, sure he may have the (R) by his name, but actions and principles are what matter, words are meaningless if not backed up with consistency.

Arnold is a Democrat posing as a Republican. It's as simple as filling out a voter registration card.

I cannot see what there is to gain by electing a Democrat to office, no matter what his nametag says.

We must have been watching different programs. I heard McClintock say that any changes are up to his voters themselves. I also heard him say he is in to the end because he owes it to the conservatives supportng him. He is in to the end because it is too late to take his name off the ballot anyway. His voters are not negotiable instruments. They will vote as they see fit and that CANNOT be good news for Arnie.

Furthermore, it is obvious that the Dem dirt machine is going to unload heaps of crap on Schwarzenegger late in the campaign (after getting McClintock to drop out, if they can) to further suppress Arnold's poll popularity.

After Arnold promoted and got a $550 million, yearly tax increase 'for the children', you ain't seen anything yet. When he 'opens and audits the books', will that be one of the first things to go, like most of the tax receipts thrown at and wasted by the failed education lobbies?

If he had successfully promoted a $550 million yearly tax savings, then you might have a case.
