It's often said that homosexuals have always been with us, as if the "gay rights" movement has just spontaneously emerged, but the truth is that it has been traced to one man, a communist named Harry Hay. This is a story that deserves to be told as society proceeds with a debate over the extent of "gay rights."
This is what lies behind the drive for homosexual marriage. Their "rights" won't end with that. They want to legalize child molestation by calling it "love." With the gay marriage debate underway, it's time for the major media to tell the full truth about the origins and founder of this "movement."

Dude: I think you're talking to a JD.
More significantly, many of the guards and administrators responsible for the infamous concentration camp atrocities were homosexuals themselves, which negates the proposition that homosexuals in general were being persecuted and interned. Homosexuality and the Nazi Party
And there is exactly the fallacy I was trying to get at.
Skousen made a list of social agendas that would undermine America. Without basis or substantiation, he attributed those social agendas to the communists. Then, as these things came to pass, Skousen's supporters proclaim, "Ah ha, see, he was RIGHT!"
And everyone buys it; hook, line, and sinker.
So, again I have to ask. From what source can Skousen legitimately show that these were the explicit goals of Communists to undermine America?
Don't get me wrong, The Naked Communist is a classic book and it's a good manifesto of what America should and should not be. I despise communists, socialists, and leftists of all stripes.
But so many conservatives look like leftist caricatures of credulous conspiracy theorists by embracing this list (which has taken on an air of urban legend) as if it was some covert memorandum uncovered by the CIA in the cold war days. If conservatives want to be taken seriously, we can't be such gullible dupes.

The Hidden Hitler
by Lothar Machtan
(Persues Press, 2001 )
.
This is a serious book by a German historian about why Hitler may have been motivated to have done away with a number of those that were killed in June,1934, including Ernst Röhm. Dr. Machtan does not try to prove anything. He paints a picture of Hitler's close relationship with Röhm in the 1920s and the battle to distance the Nazis from homosexuality in the 1930s -- an anti-gay move led by Joseph Goebbels. Machtan is fair rather than wild and sensational in his approach, painting an interesting picture of goings-on in Germany after World War I.
Lothar Machten is an assistant professor of History at Bremen University.

As I assembled over a hundred samples of the letters and reviews from all over the country, it is interesting that the principal attraction of the book was the fact that it was comprehensive, carefully documented and easy to understand.
It was equally interesting that the liberals who attempted to discredit the contents of the book never found factual errors, misrepresentations, or false conclusions which they could refute with documentation. Instead they resorted to ad hominem attacks.
On tdadams FR homepage, he avers "little patience" with "ad hominem."
In light of this, his post 69 above is instructive:
This is a Conservative web site. When I come here, I presume that I'm corresponding with other Conservatives until such time that things just ain't adding up, and a another agenda starts to shine through. That's usually when I make the discovery.
Please don't come back and say I don't want to hear the truth or some other BS. I am quite capable of discerning truth. Just because you have a different agenda, it doesnt make your truth more valid.
As far as being open to other view points... Well let me just say, the world is full of "other view points". They are a dime a dozen. If I want "other view points", I'll go to the DU.
Good day.
it has yet to be worth my time to get into a discussion with a self-described Libertarian.
It does no good to argue ideas with those who will respond as brutes. Clarence Thomas Given as the Francis Boyer Lecture for the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research at Washington, D.C. on February13, 2001
How any thinking individual could defend the bizarre, brutal and dangerous abnormal behavior of practicing homosexuals is almost incomprehensible.
Ditto.
And just where have I done that (presuming you're talking about me)? Stop making baseless allegations if you can't stand be challenged on them.
Perhaps enough time has passed to permit examination in realistic terms of these approaches to social organization, concentrating on essential characteristics and demonstrated aspirations as opposed to clichés. Decades of observation, as well as ceaseless consideration given to the core issues, compel me to look upon these seemingly opposite systems as mirror images, aspiring to a similar outcome, applying identical methods, achieving comparable subjugation of people under their control, spreading the same hopelessness in their paths. While such conclusions have certainly been reached by others, it may be less obvious that Fascism (Nazism) and Communism (Bolshevism) all share their philosophical foundations as well.
Gleichschaltung operated at once on structural and cultural levels. Structurally, the first victim was federalism: within days of Hitler's accession, the states had to cede authority to the central government. Next, the leadership and membership of every kind of organization had to become politically and racially correct. With the task of implementing structural changes assigned to a variety of agencies, as early as March 1933, a separate Cabinet Department was created for Josef Goebbels to oversee every aspect of the cultural scene, making certain that it was politically correct. Specific terms aside, the reality of all these regimes is the great flattening which is in full progress from day one. Since it is not possible to raise anyone's natural level by fiat, the alternative is to force everyone down.
It is astonishing and frightening how little time it took both in Russia and in Germany to accomplish this task. Indeed, it should be noted that demolishing what centuries had built does not require even a single generation.
The next ingredient had to do with groups. While it may appear contradictory to identify groups in a society having just experienced Gleichschaltung, contradictions do not represent obstacles in a totalitarian structure. The identity of groups was as necessary as the levelling had been in order to maintain positive and negative imaging. This constant dichotomy of egalitarianism and group hatred provided a manipulative tool as simple as it was ingenious. Hitler used race and nationality, Lenin and Stalin mostly class the outcome was the same. Gleichschaltung
