Why is everyone in such contortions over the daily and hourly Cali events? Heck, we're only halfway through the two month campaign.

I don't think you understand the election:
The absentee ballots are out. More conservatives vote
absentee. If they vote for "Scumbag" McClintock, it
will be a vote for Bustamante. Thank you!
The absentee votes cannot be withdrawn.

Why is everyone in such contortions over the daily and hourly Cali events? Heck, we're only halfway through the two month campaign. They are hysterical for many reasons, one of them being absentee ballots. In CA, 30 to 40% of the votes are cast by mail, and that process is ongoing as week speak.

Because the absentee ballots have been mailed (and mostly received) and a large percentage of conservatives votes are absentee. If someone doesn't drop out soon and people start mailing in ballots for those no longer on it in a week or so, it would NOT be good. The sooner a move is made, the better. And the voting is less than a month away for everyone else!
