I was flying a Cessna 172 over the Hudson river, saw Flight 11 flash by passing my nose, seemed about 1/3 mile out and slightly higher, coming from the North. Then a black cloud over the WTC. Then a lot of conflicting radio calls. It was a bad, helpless day. Haven't flown since.

That's an amazing account you just posted.
One of the most bizarre 9/11 stories came from a friend of mine, who called his wife and told her to get the hell out of the office because a hijacked passenger plane had just been crashed into the Pentagon.
What made the story so bizarre is that she worked in the Pentagon -- she didn't have a clue about what happened until the phone rang.

I got to see it on the "tele", from the point before the 2nd plane hit until both towers collapsed. Then I had to drive to work, which was virtually impossible... Needless to say I didn't eat for the day and found myself with a newborn revulsion for islam.
