It was a wicked and effective jab in the best tradition of Free Republic. Rush Limbaugh would be there reminding everybody that Arnold's not a real conservative, and that he's not taking sides but let's just see how Mclintock's "landing" on the aircraft carrier works out. I'll say it again, Rush has big time cowardly complicity in this. Instead of pretending not to take sides, he should have the guts to just come out and support Mclintock all the way, split the party, and give the state to the dems, if that's what it means. Or he should have the sense to say it's time for Mclintock to quit.

I am a conservative because it makes sense. It is NOT a religion. Conservative orthodoxy does not require that Cruz Bustamante be California's governor.

Anyone that knows me, knows I do not think I am a genius. That is the truth. I just doodle my thoughts. I am sorry this one offends you in any way.

He seems to have a bit of trouble with that "no personal attacks" thing, doesn't he? You want me to take them down?

No, my brother used to call me that all the time, so much so I nearly answered to it growing up. It kinda makes me feel "at home" here. Thanks.

Ueberroth Withdrawal Has Minimal Effect

By TOM CHORNEAU, Associated Press Writer

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Peter Ueberroth's withdrawal from the recall election doesn't significantly change voter sentiments toward other gubernatorial candidates in the California recall race, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The Field Poll also found that the state's troubled economy dominates voter concerns, and that a majority of likely voters disapprove of the law Democratic Gov. Gray Davis (news - web sites) signed allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses.

Experts had expected GOP front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger to absorb most of the 5 percent support held by Ueberroth. But the poll showed Schwarzenegger and Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante each picked up 2 percentage points with Ueberroth out of the mix.

Ueberroth, a Republican businessman and chief of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games (news - web sites), withdrew Tuesday, saying that his campaign never captured strong voter interest.

The poll, conducted over five days ending Sunday, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points and was drawn from phone interviews with 505 likely voters.

Mark DiCamillo, director of the Field Poll, said his staff was easily able to revise results after Ueberroth's announcement because voters had been asked for both their first and second preferences in the event one candidate dropped out.

Bustamante, a Democrat, went from 30 percent with Ueberroth in the race to 32 percent with him gone. Schwarzenegger went from 25 percent of the vote to 27 percent.

Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock, a Republican conservative, took the final slice of Ueberroth's supporters, going from 13 percent to 14 percent.

Wow. This is the first piece of sh*t you've ever posted to FR.

Why not do one featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger holding open the gates at our state's border crossing?

Or, show Arnold welcoming women to Planned Parenthood for their bi-yearly abortion?

Or, show Arnold giving the "high-five" to the Brady bill?

Or, show Arnold ripping our states GOP charter in half?

Too bad you can't trace your ancestors, as all the Neanderthals have expired from existence, save for you.

No, I think you are describing Tom McClintock's ancestors. This is NOT a primary. That Tom knows this and presses on regardless shows that the man is a piece of sh*t, and deserves this scorn and much more. He has no future in this party.

Everyone bitches and complains about RINO's and how they don't do anything for the party, yet pit a true conservative who (according to the FR poll) has more support then Arnold, and has real solutions to the California budget, vs. Arnold, and he gets crusified! Yeah he may be at 14%, but this "star-power" worship of Arnold is the same that Freeper levels against NYer when they voted for Hitlery! Great the Arnold is leading, but so far, he's just 1 Bill o'Reilly interview away from loosing 10 points! We'll see tonight!

Why should he do that? Why don't you explain to us...
1. How the Governor of California has power over immigration policy
2. How the governor of California has special powers above that of the Supreme Court on abortion
3. How the Governor of California can legally refuse to enforce the Federal Brady Bill.

Strawman after strawman. That is all your McClintockBots are capable of. You will follow this selfish man off a cliff, to the detriment of the GOP and California.
